Anybody else almost become Lucid but then get tired and fall asleep in the dream?

This has happened to me twice. The first time I was shifting dream scenes constantly but I questioned lucidity when was on the kitchen floor of where I live wrapped up in a blanket like I'd been sleeping there. A friend of mine's father was there cooking something and trying to wake me up... I questioned if I was dreaming but felt so tired in the dream that I just closed my eyes, feel asleep, and awoke in another dream sequence totally unaware.

The second time I was in a the car with a friend and a bunch of odd stuff was happening... I felt like I didn't want to deal with it and wondered if it was a dream then got tired and fell asleep. This time though I awoke in the same dream sequence but again totally unaware and swept back up in the dream.

Anybody experience something similar? Have any ideas why this is happening? My initial thoughts are maybe I am actually too tired to become Lucid and need the unaware sleep... or maybe I am just not stable or aware enough to be Lucid at that particular time.

Yes, I have. Just RC, remind yourself that you are asleep and dreaming, and that you can't be any more asleep (in the physical sense) than you already are. The tiredness is illusory and should disappear the more you convince yourself that you are dreaming.

Good point... It's such a strong tired feeling though. I have had no control of it so far it comes and it knocks me out lol. Hopefully now that I am aware of it though when it happens again it will just trigger a lucid ha and give me energy.

I did last night. Funny thing is, I suspect that was a result of the “day residue” from reading this thread.

I had a FA, tried to use my watch, but the display faded out like the batteries were dead, which resulted in lucidity. But I had this strange, overwhelming sleepiness/drowsiness. I immediately attempted to remember that this dream and all of these feelings were just me, and tried to do Sageous's RRC, but the feeling was so overpowering that I didn't quite manage it. I woke up within a couple of seconds.

Ironically, right after that I had a bit of insomnia and couldn't sleep again for a while.

Haha sorry man... definitely don't wish it on anyone cus it's lame. It's like the mind just gives you an anesthetic and you can try to hang on but before you know it you are done lol. Surely with practice as mentioned it can be overcome, but so far it's been a bugger.
