How to reach to Lucidity ?

Hey everyone my name is Karl and I've been reading about Lucid dreaming the past few weeks. And I was trying hard the past five days to achieve it, but unfortunately my dreams weren't that vivid and lucid. I have read a lot of website's reviews. But I have a misconception about the lucid dreaming, does Lucidity leads to dream control or the opposite ?. Because my dreams aren't that lucid and vivid to make me realize that I'm dreaming, and I'm not able to control my dream either. And everytime I go to bed and I convince myself that I'll lucid dream and I will remember everything it don't work. My dream is like me watching movie or something, even though I remember everything but I can't take control of it. The plot is going on and I can't do anything about it. So what should I do?

      Thank you

A lucid dream is basically a dream in which you know you are dreaming. You might not be able to control it at first, but it will come with experience.
Please be aware of the fact that it might take weeks or even months before you will get your first lucid dream.

      Hi Karl,
Lucid dreaming is a hobby/ability/lifestyle that practitioners build over a lifetime. Get a good book, like Stephen LaBerge's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming," a comfortable chair, and have a good long read. Following the recommendations in LaBerge usually results in the first lucid dream for beginners within a month or so.

      In short:
+ build your dream recall to the point where you can consistently remember at least one dream a night for about 7-10 days in a row
+ increase your day-time awareness by performing reality checks and critically reflecting on the notion that you could be dreaming at any conscious moment.
+ go to bed with the intention to realize that you're dreaming in the dream (become lucid).

LaBerge does in to a lot more detail about how to do these things.

When you are lucid, you are IN the movie, and not just watching it.
You can do what you want with full awareness.

I'm afraid it may take much longer than you anticipate, my friend!

As FryingMan said, lucid dreaming is a lifestyle and really takes some dedication to see consistent results. Build a strong base though, and you will be grateful. You need to put the horse before the wagon and improve your dream recall, awareness, program your mind to be familiar with lucid dreaming, and learn how to confirm you are in a dream.

I wish remembering 1 dream a night was all I needed for lucid dreaming. I remember 3-8 dreams a night on average and lucidity still eludes me.

From what I have read in the websites, they say that I should write my dream before I go to bed,and read it over and over before I fall asleep, is that right or I should just go to bed without writing anything and let my brain decided it?, even though I tried it but it didn't work. And I even remember every single dream that I dreamt the past five days

^^ Second attempt: Read LaBerge's ETWOLD, it will set you on the right path. << Pay attention to this advice, which you have now also read on a website .

It's good you remember dreams, keep working on that. And read ETWOLD.

I'd also like to advice reading this book: The Phase (OOBE/LD)OOBE Research Center | OOBE Research Center

It's a free pdf and it clearly describes some very effectif techniques, when you get your first LD it'll be a lot more clear as to how it all works.
If you read this do a reality check, you will thank me later...
