aHHHH......DREAM SIGNS.....my favorite......
dream signs can be very tricky......takes some analyzing sometimes....then other times, they are obvious........
A dream sign can literally BE ANYTHNG.......something in your real life, or something that isn't in your real life, like sivason said.....a DS can even be an action, or a color, or a single word, it can be a place, it can be vegetables, or suits, or even EMOTIONAL states....
My dream signs have changed, over time, of course, like many other changes we experience in our existence....
My dream signs have been animals, action-verbs, anD the mental state of FRUSTRATION....
I was for a period of time having non-lucids which were characterized by me being frustrated.......then after that my dream sign was "scooping"......
give you an example....
I had a series of dreams where in one dream,
i had a car that had a plow on the front, and my dad was bull-dozing piles of dirt out of the front yard
then i had a dream where i was making coffee, and i kept scooping coffee beans to fill in this machine, but the machine would never have enough....so i kept scooping...
then i had another dream where i worked at some fast food joint and i was scooping french fries out of a tub...
and lastly....i dreamt i got stuck in the snow and didnt have a shovel, so i "scooped" the snow from under my truck with my bare hands.....
Those of course, are just parts of the dreams that i had, just to give you an example.....anytime im around some "scooping or digging" of some sort, i REALITY CHECK.
STUDY YOUR DREAM JOURNAL, and read thru it on a WBTB session.....
Heres a list of various dream signs which have sparked lucidity for me...
Emotions or mental states:
Frustration
Feelings of being overwhelmed
Confusion
Fear
Overly-Confident
Extreme Anger
If one of your dream signs happens to be an emotion or mental state, every time you experience that emotion or state of mind in real life, verbally call it, "I'm frustrated!"
Make it part of your awareness, or be mindful of it to acknowledge it, and reality check. And if you never experience that emotion in real life, rehearse feeling it, and reality-checking for it.
A dream sign can be you always explaining something, or it can be a bathrobe, or a scenario where you are always hesitating or procrastinating, it could literally be anything.
Studying your dream signs can prepare you for readiness when you experience them in a dream. You wont always catch them, sometimes they slip by, and you wont realize this until you wake up......
One should have a certain amount of practicing cognition...the ability to be cognizant, at least the ability to reflect.....awareness of the dream sign by itself isnt enough....you already have a certain level of awareness in your dreams otherwise you wouldnt be able to recall them. There needs to be a certain ability to process with cognition what you are actually aware of whence encountering dream signs......
