      April 12 Lucid Dreaming Day 2015

      I just got emailed this:

      Lucid Dreaming Day

      falls on the historic date of April 12th when, in 1975, lucid dreaming was first scientifically proven by*Dr Keith Hearne.

      "If lucid dreaming were to be compared to space exploration, then the achievements of English psychologist Keith Hearne could be considered comparable in magnitude to those of NASA during the time of the first moon landing."~ Daniel Love

      For it was Hearne who first demonstrated a method by which we can communicate to the waking world*during*a lucid dream.

      He exploited the nature of Rapid Eye Movements (REM) to have an experienced lucid dreamer called Alan Worsley perform a pre-defined set of eye movements during his lucid dream.

      After a false start (in which Worsley performed the routine but the recording equipment had been shut down for the night), Hearne successfully recorded Worsley's smooth and deliberate eye movements on an electro-oculogram (EOG) at around 8am on the morning of April 12th, 1975:

      Waking life alex jones,

      Waking Life is about an unnamed young man living an ethereal existence that lacks transitions between everyday events and that eventually progresses toward an existential crisis.

      For most of the film he observes quietly but later participates actively in philosophical discussions involving other characters—ranging from quirky scholars and artists to everyday restaurant-goers and friends—about such issues as metaphysics, free will, social philosophy, and the meaning of life. Other scenes do not even include the protagonist's presence, but rather, focus on a random isolated person, group of people, or couple engaging in such topics from a disembodied perspective.*

      Happy lucid dreaming day! Hope for tonight lucids!

      Last night I had lucid dream, where I just walk and explore by my feet. No super powers, no flying, just walking without any emotions. This dream lasted ~35 minutes, it was great!

      Well this just happened in Santa Barbara, CA over the weekend Home - Lucidity Festival read the "about" section

      I don't know how the hell I didn't know about this... No doubt it's connected to lucid dreaming day.

      Also, I just watched The Waking Life... that was some cool and trippy stuff. I definitely wouldn't mind getting lost in a series of FA's for a while. Interesting quote at the very end...

      Yea, Waking Life was one of the best Lucid-Dreaming - and also thought provoking - films ever. I've seen it 3 times...
      A few days ago, ANAMNESIS, a lucid-dreaming web series - and actually very dream-like has been released, and it's free on YouTube. Also worthy seeing!
