(apologies if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't best sure where to post this)
So last night I had 11 lucid dreams in a single night. The most I've ever had in one night (I've previously had more dreams than that, 25-26 in one night, but only 5-6 of those were ever lucid). That's like almost 5% of all the lucid dreams I've ever had (I've had somewhere over 265 lucids, I've counted at least 265 although there have been some I've forgotten to count).
A few days earlier I had 5 lucid dreams in a night.
In fact every single night this week except for once I've been lucid, usually 2-3+ times a night minimum. I haven't even practised any of my usual techniques.
So how did I do it? Well that's what I want to share. Every night, within 30-60 minutes of when I plan to sleep, I've been meditating for 25+ minutes. I turn off the lights and spend a good 10-15 minutes doing various relaxation rituals to get myself into almost a trance like state, then I begin sitting for meditation. I sit there for 25-45 minutes simply focusing on my breath. If I get caught up in thought, I don't get anxious about it, I just remember my purpose and go back to focusing on my breathing. After anywhere between 25 and 45 minutes, when I feel it's right, I stop meditating.
Within an hour of that meditation I try to go to sleep (or at least get in bed and do something relaxing like listen to ASMR).
Now I didn't intend for this to have any impact on my sleep. In fact I've been meditating pretty much daily for a year and a half now. The only thing that changed is how deep I've been meditating. In the past I would just stop what I was doing and meditate without really getting myself relaxed beforehand. As a result I often didn't meditate for longer than 10-15 minutes, and during those 10-15 minutes I spent the whole time caught up in thought. Very little time was spent in a truly quiet and peaceful state. Now working on relaxation beforehand has allowed me to shut off my mind easier, and meditate deeper.
So after the first night of incredibly deep meditation about a week ago, I went to sleep. I ended up having 3-4 lucid dreams in a single night. I attributed it to the meditation but I wasn't certain, since I do lucid dream every so often regardless of whether or not I perform any method. The next night, again, 2-3 lucid dreams. Then again. And again. And again. Now tonight I ended up having 11 lucid dreams. At this point I'm certain the meditation did it.
Perhaps the best part is it isn't just the frequency of lucid dreams that has changed. Last night I was able to keep returning to the same lucid dream in each subsequent dream. So in a way if you don't count the periods of wakefulness, I had a lucid dream that lasted several hours of intense adventure (my previous longest was a mere 20-30 minutes or so). Hell, even if you *do* only count the longest of those portions, that was still around 45-50 minutes in of itself, as I was able to keep the dream astonishingly stable. This is something I've always struggled with, but it came so natural to me.
One thing that I also found quite interesting was how the dreams came about. It was never a case of me realising I was dreaming in the middle of a dream. No I was aware before the dream actually formed. I would see the blackness behind my eyes, and know that I was asleep in bed. I would then conjure up imagery, and I would cause the imagery to move. Causing the imagery to move (like by for example imagining me moving/flying/etc) would cause it to become more real, until I felt like I was really there. At that point I would still have no body, so what I would do is get close to an object, and imagine how it felt in my hands. Imagining how it felt in my hands would then cause my hands to appear actually feeling the object. From there I was in the dream and could do what I liked.
When a dream ended, I was just back in the blackness, and was easily able to create a new dream in the same way, or re-enter the old one. This is how I've kept having multiple dreams every single night, because I'm never jolted awake, and I remain aware and in control even in the stages between and prior to dreams.
Anyway I was just so excited about this that I decided to make this post about it. Anyone here who has struggled with lucid dreaming and doesn't already do deep meditation each day for at least 20 minutes. Try it. I've tried so many techniques over the 7 years I've been lucid dreaming on/off, but nothing has compared to this. It's amazing.
Also, even if you do already meditate, try moving your meditation closer to the time you go to sleep.
(PS: It may also be worth adding that I've been abstaining from masturbation for just under 2 months now too. I've previously noticed that for whatever reason I have more lucid dreams when doing this. So I thought I'd add this in just in case it was the two things combined and not just the meditation alone)

So I'm curious if anyone else has had the same experience with meditation and lucidity.
Oh and as a bit of a last note. Some of you may have already seen my YouTube channel since if you search "How to lucid dream" my guide is in the top 3 results (position varies depending on your location, for some people it's the #1 video, for others #2, for others #3). Hopefully some time soon I'll be making some new videos both about the dream series I had last night (since it was pretty awesome, one of my favourite ever lucid dreams) and another about meditation helping me to get lucid. I'll try to remember to share them here when I do
