Gambling and probability in lucid dream

So yesterday i watched a video about gambling and probability and wanted to experiment with that. I found the topic very interresting.

Last night I had 2 lucid dreams. In second one, i remember to do the task.

I realized I'm dreaming and I saw two DC's. I asked for a dice. The first one checked his pocked and found nothing. The second DC found and threw a similar red-blue dice on me that Ive got home. Thanks buddy!

I sit on the ground - let's try the experiment:

      1. throw I expected nothing - the top of the dice was oddly shaped, it wasnt cube anymore and there were lots of dots placed unevenly.

      2. throw I expected nothing - same result with different wierdly shaped top of the dice and chaotic dots.

      3. throw
I expected the dice to work normally - 5

      4. throw I expected the dice to work normally - 3

      5. throw I expected the dice to work normally - 4

      6. throw I expected the dice to work normally - 5

      7. throw I strongly focused to land on 1 - 1

      8. throw
I strongly focused to land on 1 again - 1

      9. throw I strongly focused to land on 1 again - 1

      10. throw I lighty focused to land on 1 - 1

      What do you think?

I have always been very interested in the way our subconscious deals with what we perceive to be random results and how it predicts them; I believe with enough introspection and practice we could cultivate a something akin to believable randomness in our minds, but I also think it requires a little bit of work to weed out those expectations we have about random results.

As an example: your dice didn't land twice in a row on the same number, and it never landed on 6 or 1 either. I'm not saying 4 rolls constitute enough of a result pool to gather conclusions from, I'm just saying that these sorts of subconscious constraints we put on randomness are what's between us and believable randomness.

One thing that might be worthwhile noting is that, symbolically, throwing a die inside your dreams - or indeed, imagining the throw of a die - doesn't actually mean we're simulating every little physical interaction going on with that dice, so it is very likely to give us exactly the same results as simply thinking of a random number - perhaps even worst, since spontaneity goes a little out the window.

Of course, in the end, a random result is what it is.

      Hope I didn't sound like a looney.

Yesterday I had another lucid and just sit on the ground with dices again. This time I had three dices.

It's much harder to expect different numbers with multiple dice throws. If I expected three 6, I could manage it only few times....

Could be used as I training tool for dream control

Interesting, but I agree with RaveCrazedDave. We simple humans can never recreate true randomness because our perception of randomness is so skewed by the restraints we put on the situation (for example, it is unlikely we'd get the same number three times in a row, so we consciously choose 'random' number that never do that). I believe your experimentation with expecting a 1 lends some evidence to this. Your normal, innate view of randomness is likely causing you to expect (or not to expect) certain patterns, which influence the throws.

This is a really cool idea. >.>
Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week; you have a schedule, a calendar... Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.
