Lightbulb My Random Thoughts While Aware

When I started practicing All-Day-Awareness, I didn't realize just how unaware of myself I was. Life feels completely different now, and, though I have yet to attain a lucid dream just yet by this method, I wanted to share some of the short, random thoughts and Questions about lucid dreams that I have begun to think since starting all day awareness.

I wonder if our subconscious minds can grow to hate us because we are trying to control dreams, the one place where the subconscious is usually in control.

I wonder if we can talk directly to our subconscious in our dreams, and reach some form of agreement with ourselves that would make attaining lucidity significantly easier, with very little effort.

If we were to manage to attain such a high level of awareness that we performed "Dream Yoga"/Delta Lucid Dreams all night, every night and had an astounding level of control over the facilities in our brains, could we manage to feel the onset of death, and, depending on the cause, prolong our lives?

Would you be able to fix a mental health issue, like, say, ADHD by asking your brain to rewire itself to fix it?

These were just some of the weird little thoughts that I caught while being aware about awareness, lucid dreams, and similar things.
That certainly is a nice red button you have there.

Well, the subconcious/unconcious is not really a mind of its own, so there is no reason for it to hate you.
Again it has no will of its own, so if you make an agreement it will be with yourself. Which I don't think is bad at all, talk to yourself and make it easier to get lucid, get confident and allow it to sink in your mind to make it easier.
We can feel the onset of death, but how is that going to prolong our lives? I have all my dreams lucid as of right now, and do a lot of crazy shit experiments, along with rewiring myself. For example, allow myself to be bisexual which actually worked. Never tried ADHD however.

Cool! I thank you for your response and information!

I suppose I wasn't very clear when I said "Prolong Death." By that, I more or less was contemplating the idea of keeping your brain from breaking down and dying because of brain-related reasons by telling it that it shouldn't be doing that. It sounds kinda weird, now that I'm expanding on the idea in writing...

As far as the rewiring yourself, I'm happy to hear that it's possible; I have pretty severe ADHD, and it's obnoxious and kind of intrudes on my life, so I figure it would be helpful to, at the very least, rewire my brain into letting me 'Switch it off' during the days, and when practicing for LD's.

Finally, as for the Subconscious not being a mind of its own, I have recently begun contemplating a sort-of different kind of theory of mind recently; I think that our conscious mind and subconscious minds are separate conscious entities that interact together to form a conglomerate 'Whole' consciousness that we experience; I explained my thought process here in more detail, but I can't say that I'm fully sold on this idea, myself.

AH! I wonder if thats possible. Maybe so, concidering the unconcious is the one in charge of that, if we can control it to some degree in a dream we could stop it right before death? Interesting food for thought.

Well, as I always say if you can imagine it you can do it. Kinda like the Walt Disney's quote but in a dream XD

Actually, I did read your thread about the three minds and actually like the idea. It is an interesting read, the only problem I see is for example, what about hemisphere dominance? I know that lefties have more right hemisphere dominance and viceversa, so was wondering where that would place the unconcious and subconcious? Does that makes lefties dreams more rational?
That does make sense, considering my dreams were VERY rational, to the point that no RC worked in them and I kept searching and failing to induce lucid dreams for 8 years straight, with 0 success.

So, seeing this, I decided to do a quick look into hemisphere dominance, and learned that people develop their brain functions in different areas in the brain depending on several different conditions, which would mean that you could have people with linguistics on one side of their brain along with creativity & similar things that are often associated with right-brain behaviors. Theoretically, that could mean that your subconscious could possess your logic center, thus making dreams more rational and realistic. Although, it is fairly rare, even in lefties, for this part of your brain to develop on the right side. Maybe you are part of the 1/3 of all lefties whose language center is on the right side entirely, thus making your right brain your more "conscious" brain and your left brain your more "Subconscious" brain. Although I believe that the facilities in which create the subconscious and conscious mind are not necessarily restricted to their appropriate hemisphere in its entirety, I would now probably say "Whatever hemisphere of your brain you use to speak will be your conscious mind," for the sake of simplicity.

Honestly, I had no idea that brains could develop sections in different areas until just now

Isn't the brain just freaking amazing? Now you got me interested in a few new subjects, will need to catch up in information.

We have a lot to learn, and hopefully lucidity will be one of the keys to reaching new knowledge.

No, I don't think this is at all probable. While it is possible for our subconscious mind to hate us because our subconscious mind is part of us and it is possible to hate ourselves, I believe the reasons for hating ourselves would tend to be far less trivial than because we could not control our dreams in general. There is the possibly of a preconscious approach-avoidance conflict related to control over a dream, but I don't believe our subconscious selves would care about it very long after the dream.

Lucidity involves perceiving the dream as a dream. Changing the way we perceive something may not feel natural to us. There is temptation to perceive the world in a way that feels natural to us. Resisting this temptation requires self-control, which is like a muscle, has a certain limit in the short-term in its ability to do work based on how strong it is. Thus, making attaining lucidity significantly easier is not at all likely to be done in a one time set-it-and-forget-it type of way.

Yes, this is possible. It is like lucid dream, only with one being aware of the onset of death while it is happening rather than being aware of a dream while it is happening. In order to be lucid onset of death, one has to have their attention on the onset of death while it is happening and have their schema for the experience of the onset of death match what it is like in reality.

No, ADHD is too complex of a disorder to fix it while doing hardly any work. If an intention is set to fix a mental health issue, that intention has to be maintained until the mental health issue is fixed. There is temptation to not maintain that intention because it may not feel natural. Thank you for the information! I'm sorry if some of the questions seemed a little ridiculous, I like to delve into the real of the preposterous on occasion.

Okay, but... say I were to set that intention and maintain it for a prolonged period of time, across multiple experiences, all of which were focused on curing my ADHD. Would it then be a theoretically feasible, or even a clearly attainable possibility to eventually cure that?
That certainly is a nice red button you have there.

ADHD is a disorder that makes it difficult for a person to pay attention and control impulsive behaviors. Setting an intention and maintaining it for a prolonged period of time requires one to pay attention and control impulsive behaviors. Those with ADHD can improve in these areas to the point where this is feasible, but by doing this, they probably would have already cured their ADHD.

Think of it like exercise. One exercises to get stronger in areas where they are weak.
