Lack of motivation, searching for a high level lucid.

Hi all, was wondering if anyone else has felt this way on their LD journey.

100 lucid dreams since joining DV should probably be a big milestone, but it doesn't feel that way. I've reached a point where LDing is a function of time, meaning that if I sleep for X amount of hours (usually on the weekend), I will most likely have 2-5 spontaneous DILDs as I wake up. I haven't used any induction/awareness techniques or even dream journaled in the past month, and have still had 33 lucid dreams.

The problem is, I haven't really been enjoying the ones I do have. Although my recent lucid frequency is relatively high for me, my lucid dreams have been (in Yuschak's words) low-level: they are short, unfocused, and often sexual when they occur close to waking (which feels like wasted potential). I often have more fun in the dreams where I'm semi-lucid or not lucid at all, because they allow the dream to continue moving forward and unfolding in more interesting ways than the predictable patterns I fall into. I feel like Cypher wanting to take the blue pill, in that I'd almost rather have a nice old regular dream than one of my typical lucid dreams (I guess this is a separate problem, that of searching for wonder after disillusionment).

Of course I understand that a high-level lucid is totally achievable naturally and would most likely give me what I'm looking for, I'm just getting impatient and lazy I suppose (this is another pattern I see in all of the hobbies I partake in). Again sorry for the gripe, I usually hate this sort of thing. I'm sure I will snap out of it soon and get in the groove again soon.
      Dreaming Goals:
Cultivate a successful dream incubation technique
Explore high level lucids with supplements
Tune up my daily brain chemistry naturally
Go information hunting in my dreams and bring back music/art/ideas into my waking life
      LD Frequency:
      About 8 per month

It sounds like you achieved what you attempted to achieve, and now you don't know what to do.

The obvious choice is to set yourself a new goal. A goal further out than your original one.

      Here are some suggestions:
      1. Attain a higher level of awareness within the lucid dreams
      2. Keep the lucid dreams going for longer
      3. Master the art of changing dreams
      4. Use your lucid dreams for something of practical value

Your ability to attain lucidity in dreams will be envied by many. In my view, you would do well to use this unusual ability to explore the possibilities within the dream world. These possibilities are endless.

You've opened the door. Now go in, and discover!

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

Voldmer is right in that your ability to become lucid so frequently is enviable indeed. It sounds like there's a lot to be explored for you still. I'm hoping my frequency continues to rise over time. Good luck with getting in a groove that you like with LDing.

Nah nah nah, forget what everyone else said, you simply need some more, key word...
      IMAGGGGGGGGGGGINATTTTTTTTTTTTTIONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN NNNNNNNNNN

Imagination is how creative you are, so simply put, to what extent can you create? and to that extent, how will you enjoy it?

What if i told you give me 10 potential stories of a dream plot, that is only inspired from the word "Sky"?

THAT is what you're missing. Being a GOD in your dreams yeah it's fun for like.... the first 20 seconds.... but after awhile, god's get boring, so what do they do? Create shit. Explore limits, and new ways to make things. Get creative, get creative, get creative, which means going out of your comfort zone and exploring what you like

Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement everyone, I'm officially back in the groove!

I've had 10 more lucid dreams* since the last post and my recent nonlucids have been quite fun as well. I'm doing some work around refining my mantra, practicing awareness, and starting to seriously meditate. I'm also setting more concrete goals for myself.

*For the sake of clarity, I'd also just like to note that I count any dream where I'm aware of the fact that I'm dreaming (when I feel that "pull" of getting sucked into awareness) as a lucid. Also when I say these things have been short lately I'm talking seconds. But what I realized recently is that the only thing that ever wakes me up from my lucid dreams is the realization of the fear of waking up. There's no reason for me not to become lucid in every dream I have. My awareness is there and I won't let my fear of waking control me. I'm in the process of conditioning my response to this thought. It usually occurs after performing some action, or interacting with a specific character. I then notice some strange visuals (blurring, phasing out, blacking out, losing clarity), and at that point I immediately have the thought (and more importantly, the feeling) of "Oh shit, I'm about to wake up!". The important thing is that I accept that this thought will come, and, like in meditation, realize that rejecting this thought is not the answer to my problem. The real answer is refusing to give this thought power over the lengths of my lucids.
