Can we read minds during lucid dreaming?

I am new to lucid dreaming, so pardon me if this isn't a good question. It's said that we can do anything in a lucid dream, for example, flying etc. So will it also be possible to read the mind of a person we know in real life during a lucid dream by dreaming about him/her?

I do not have any personal experience, but I can recommend Waggoner´s book Lucid dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self. You will find some pretty interesting and deep stuff.

I get the impression there may be some misinterpretation here; when it's said that we can do "anything" in a lucid dream, it's likely only meant in the sense of what actually takes place in the dream. Whatever spiritual beliefs one might have put aside, dreams ultimately happen inside you, they don't get out or spill out from you, and they don't necessarily provide you with correct answers, be you lucid or not.

Perhaps a more useful way of thinking about the theme of your question would be this; in dreams we sometimes make mental associations that we might not usually make whilst actually awake, so in a sense, it's possible that you might get a different intuition from how you would normally perceive someone you know from waking life. In this way, it's possible you might come to understand someone else's thought patterns a bit better by dreaming about them.

Singled out from some of my favourite quotes from Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri: "Risks of [Planet] flowering: considerable. But rewards of godhood: who can measure? - Usurper Judaa'Maar: Courage: to question."
