      Question How do you fly?

      YAY

I had my 3rd lucid dream!! This is the coolest one yet.

I was in the kitchen and it was dark. I looked at the stove's clock and it was really messed up. I realized I was in a dream!! I was then able to transport outside and make it day time. I started off walking down the road and jumping higher and higher until I was flying! Neighbors pointed and said "She should be a gymnist!" lol .

So anyways, the reason I posted this is because I'm curious as to how you fly?
When I flew I felt like I was swimming ( grabbing and air, doing breastroke in the air). I moved pretty slowly at times. Still fun though. I also didn't have the ability to fly very high.
When you fly are you swimming or soaring? Flying on your back or stomach? Fast or slow? Low high? Just what is your over all "flying style."
TY sorry if this is a hard to answer question

most of the time when i fly i can just levitate myself off the ground to start, no need to run and jump a couple of times. Then i fly on my stomach most of the time no real need to flap my arms or swim, i just kinda go, but i like to flip onto my back and roll around a little bit. I can fly as high as i want and as fast as I want, I usually go up really really high like above the atmosphere and then stop flying so i freefall, or i fly really fast down to the ocean and dive in alot.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.~

i've flown only once and yes it was like we swimming in the air, every push sent me a little further. kinda like the breast stroke. this is also one of my goals to fly faster.

      I'm exactly like M0rp8ix. I just go.

It is not necessary AT ALL to do any kind of motions and your speed is not limited. Its all about believing in your abilities.

      Congrats Inbetweendreams!

It really is great, flying that is. The wind blowing, you being half a mile up in the sky, in control

I'm getting jealous now, I can't wait for my 4th lucid

What I do, is just fly. I can't explain it, I just fly lol.

I fly Peter Pan style most of the time. No particular position and such. Although I do jump off the ground to take off. I have trouble lifting myself off the ground mentally, although I have done it.

I used to swim through the air also, and occasionally I lose my ability to propel myself mentally and have to resort back to swimming. I'm working on it, seems to happen when I go very high or I'm about to reach my destination. Like I'll be flying towards a balcony no problem, then a couple feet from the edge i start to go slow and lose altitude, so I'll do some breast stroke to reach the edge. I plan to shoot myself up into space in one fast motion, that should get over my height and destination related confidence issues once I succeed. Also I find that switching to Superman style also helps if I have trouble staying up.

      Congrats on the flight!

I usually fly either with my arms outstrected, going really fast, or I assume the shape of a bird and use wings. I never fly very high, though.

When I fly it feels like I am letting go. I realize that gravity is not holding me down, I am holding myself down. Knowing that I let go of myself and allow myself to fly.

I actually just had a LD last night and i was able to fly for the longest time than i ever have. VERY fun, was able to fly around an empty city basically, but the city looked...rendered, and not exactly real. But it was still cool, i was able to fly all over the place. I dived down into the sky and would make myself go up right before i hit. I flew up to the top of this building and then jumped from it and did the same thing. When i fly, its basically i would say Heroes style. Just lifting off from my feet and soaring through the air.

I had a Lucid Last night (2 actually, used WBTB for my 2nd one). I did a little flying in my 2nd one. The way I usually fly is, just by thinking about it. I lean slightly forward, and that tells my mind to make me move forward. I can increase my height by straightening out, and increase my speed just by thinking about going faster.

With me, I have no special technique for flying, I've just always been able to do it. The first time I ever flew, I just ran and jumped as hard as I could. Doing so made me soar up into the air a good 40 feet, and from there It just came naturally.

I actually turned on a fan when awake to simulate air whoosing by. No joke.

Now, I just do a swimming motion and I get that same sensation + can fly as high as I want most of the time. Jumping is a different movement for me, and I can never fly from jumping.

Depending on the situation I either change into a bird, levitate slowly, grab something an make if fly (a tray for example) or fly with superman style. Flying as an animal can be really exciting because you can go so close to the ground and you actually use your muscles and it's much more powerful than flapping your human arms. Levitating I use only when I need to get higher and I'm not in a hurry - it's slow and quite boring. I do that by raising my arms towards the sky and concentrating. Making things fly is quite self explaining: I just say that an object like a football has an ability to fly and then it will do. I grab it and I can fly (controlling the direction myself). Works often but is not very cool. I prefer superman style: gaining speed by running and then jumping and launching to the sky. This is very fast and feels awesome. The wind, the clouds. You can also relax a bit and have both your hands as wings on your side and glide. Superman style is still a bit risky with me and starting to fly doesn't work 100% of the time. I'll have to practise it more.

I used to fly in lucids as a kid, so I've never had a problem flying in adult lucids - I just believe I can do it. Usually I just reach my arms up to the sky and then it's like I'm pulled up - up I go, and then I'm in the superman position except that my arms are straight out (like a t), not pointing ahead of me. I can go fast or slow, high or low, I dont really have to think about it, I just want it to happen and it happens. It's cool

When I was a kid, I use to flap my arms in order to fly. As I got older, I began realizing how stupid that looked. Me, flapping my arms wildly.
Nowadays when I fly, large white wings appear on my back. Cliche, yes, but a whole lotta fun.

I usually fly in a standing position, with arms out-stretched.It's usually how I levitate
also.I first learned to do both by standing on my tip-toes,and feeling a surge in my
ankles. Now it just comes naturally.I think I adopted this stance, because sometimes
I have to fight evil DC's in mid-air.

I've flown in nearly every way. In non lucid dreams, I often bicycle leg to hover, and used to jump-squat (ala Peach in Mario Bros. 2). In lucids, I've flown by the following methods (not counting hitching a ride):

      Jump off a swing
      Slingshot off a branch
      Run and jump
      Neo style (mini earthquake)
      Superman style
      Lotus position flight
      Mario triple jump
      Flapping
      Power jump
      Spontaneous flight
      Desperate/Crash flight

In all but lotus position and flapping, I fly head first. Pretty spiffy.

When I was younger I would fly by jumping off something that was a couple feet tall (such as a footrest) if I wasn't in a hurry. Otherwise I'd already be in motion and would just somehow wind up in the air. I would fly horizontally, facing down, and watch the scenery below me. A few times I've flown too high and wound up in space. For some reason I don't particuarly like the feeling of drifting slowly away from the Earth, watching it get smaller and smaller... Anyways, more recently I've been using "flying machines" for some reason. Anything from hanging onto a rope attached to a hot air balloon to a magic stick. One time I turned into a seagull and flew over the ocean. Probably my favorite flying dream was when I simply looked up into the clear night sky and went up, then just hovered in midair with my arms stretched out to feel the wind. It was a really amazing experience.

I usually fly quite slowly. I just stand normally and float about...

...not much more needs to be said.

I don't usually get it first go, so I make sure I'm on flat ground before I try, because I've had some long falls before and woken up because of 'em. I attempt it like you see athletes attempt the long jump, a couple of running jumps and usually by the third I'm off the ground or on it pretty hard.

I had fun dream last night first lucid one in months.

Lots of flying but not till I got outside. went under garage door in some kids garage, did not know him. I was kind of showing off that I could fly. he looked kind of scared and so I played into it, antagonizing him till he was huddled in the corner. flew back under garage door to sunny park setting. met a group of about 10 people. showed them I had just learned to fly. kid from the garage came out and he's like: ya but don't be so aggressive jeez.

      *found this very comical.

one of the males in the group took me to his house down the street and started talking to me about it, said some of them could fly to. like a secret society. we go outside lots of activity ; beer pong, volleyball courts. what not.

tried again to fly as he asked me to try; but was having a hard time; running and jumping worked really good though. this kid grabs me one hand and we fly very fast over to by the beer pong and volleyball. everyone stops playing and is watching is.

he dives me under the volleyball net, and I remember turning 180 from flat stomach to back. as I did this I grabbed a full cup of beer from mid volleyball court and my friend puts down.

I chug the beer and sitsfied, wake up.
      awsome dream

I fly in dreams by like jumping with each step in the air. Its like the air is some kind of substance denser then water that you can move through but can jump in...but somehow still feels like air..lol.
