Is there any definition of what a "waste" of LD is? |
|
Whats your idea of what's not to waste a LD? |
|
depends on your goal. you could make it up as you go along but better to have pre-planned things you wanna do. I "wasted" my first one on flying and "natural desires", will use the next one for religeous matters like chanting a buddhist mantra and going into lotus pose and conversing with the buddha, but that's just me. You should use it for anything that you want to do but can't do in real life. Imagine yourself as Neo in the matrix at the moment of his 'awakening'- what do you do? |

TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!
new goals: have more LD's than Shift[X]
10-15min LD [ X] Article: A day in the life of an LD-er
the "Mind V.S. Body" Induction technique
Everyman 2 LD's/ sleep schedule progress
So there aren't any wrong goals? |

Thoose goals... Are they going to influence the real world as well? |
|
I tend to want to do things that are impossible that I used to daydream about when I was younger, or see in movies/cartoons. Things that under no circumstances could I do in real life. Things like lucid sex are a huge waste to me, so I avoid it. Some people enjoy having sex in every single lucid dream. It's not currently one of my goals, and I don't see it becoming one in the future. But if that's what you want to do, and you couldn't care less about flying or whatever, then that's your goal. It's a very very personal and subjective thing. Although I must stress that any time I attain lucidity, it was not a waste, no matter how quickly it ends or what I do. |

the biggest waste is not controling the dream, a while ago i realised i was dreaming and i never even thought to control it. |

I haven't LD'd yet, so don't quote me on any of this stuff. |

LDs to date: 0
Goals:
Fly [] "Hug" Keira Knightley [] "F Take part in an epic fantasy battle [] Use Super Powers [] Talk to my mental projection[]
IMO, wasting a dream is not getting to do what you want. 1st couple are almost always wastes. |

I think the most "wasted" of all LD's are not by people who are trying to LD, and don't get things done in them, but rather, by naturals who don't even realize what they're doing is even called "lucid" dreaming. They think it's normal, and they don't realize their full potential. |

Lucid Dreams: 44
Special thanks to maniakalBycikle for the sig!
I've done stupid stuff in my lucids, and felt like I wasted them after I woke up. |

If you do something that you want to do in a Lucid Dream, then it is never a waste. Don't concern yourself as to what other people believe is a "good use", because everyone has their individual opinion. |
|
It's only a waste if you do things you don't want to be doing. |
|
Staying awake to chase a dream...
Just don't decide to take a nap. Or wake yourself up just to see if you can. |
|
There are no wrong goals in Lucid Dreaming. Do what feels good and fufilling to you and you alone. When you acheive what you set out to do, that is all that matters in the end. |
