      was this a lucid?

right, I was lying down with my eyes closed and I thought I was in SP or asleep or something (however I didn't see any actual imagery in front of me)- I tried singing for whatever reason and could sing in the most magnificent opera-esque Pavarotti-style voice (no way I could do that in RL) - it was uber fun and lasted maybe 20-30 seconds and I sang some random notes and stuff and was just amazed by how vibrant, deep and amazing my voice was- like it almost sent ripples through the air it was so nice.

Now the question- I knew what I was experiencing wasn't real, so the lucid part is a "yes", however I'm unsure whether this can be considered an actual dream or whether this is more like SP or something.

I'm sure he just wanted someone who had a lot of lucid dreaming experience...

It could just be hallucinations, there are numerous times when I wake up from a dream and think I'm holding onto something like a pencil, or I wake up and think I have to make a sandwhich for someone. After the 20-30 seconds of dreaming did you almost immediatly went back to "sleep"? It could have been a false awakening, usally in those you don't remember having to try to go back to sleep really hard, you kind of seem to drift back into it.

This is quite a fascinating sounding experience.

      Sounds like HH.

What part of your sleep cycle did this occur at?

I find I have some very strange hypnagogic/dream experiences when I nap during the afternoon if I am REM deprived from the night before.
