      How clear are your dreams?

Hey, I first came on here with my "quest" to get a WILD about 2 months ago, and I've pretty much given up on that because it failed horribly every time I tried. Instead I'm having DILDs (had 8 now so far).

I heard people say and write that WILDs are way more realistic and clear than normal lucid dreams, but when I have to compare it with my own experience - I could hardly believe it'd be any clearer than it already is. Guess I'm lucky with that. My DILDs just seem so clear, detailed and realistic that I can hardly differ them from real life (actually, I can't.)

I especially noticed this in my last one (and longest one yet) where I was just walking through a city looking at everything. It had a clear blue sky and a cathedral of which I've never seen them in such detail. Including seeing people's faces and bodies perfectly clear.

Just there I was also surprised at how incredible dreams actually are, I mean how my mind can make all those things and make them look extremely real. I saw people walking all over the place in a sort of market, canals in the city, people picknicking & eating at restaurants, lots of beautifully decorated houses and monuments, and a clear blue sky with birds flying overhead. What baffled me the most though was the cathedral. Some kind of notre damme with russian influences and an insane amount of decoration. To top it all off; I really wasn't able to say it was a dream by just looking at it. Too real.

Reality checks really don't work for me, the only way I manage to enter a lucid dream so far is if something "strange" happens such as in my last dream someone introducing me to the female version of myself . So far that has also been the funniest and strangest experience in my dreams.

I've never gotten lucid through strange things. 3 were random lucidity in normal situations, 2 were from a dreamsign, and 1 was a DEILD. Cool though, I've been LDing for a month and had 6 as you see (might have forgotten 1 or 2) But I've never WILDed, it seems so weird..

I find MILDs WILDS to be pretty much the same,
with the exception of the interesting WILD entry method.
      Lucid Dreams:-
      MILD/DILD: 79
      WILD: 13
      DEILD:13
      (TOTAL: 108 )

just to see how amazing the human mind is is exactly why I lucid dream! I enjoy examining every detail that my mind makes up knowing that it is all inside my own head.

I have had a few WILD's but I primarily have DILD's. The only reality check which has worked for me is where you pinch your nose and try to breath through it. This has worked many times for me and is really my only RC

you should try picking up some straws of grass or a handfull of dirt/stones, and just try to smell it!

It smells like the fucking real thing, it's insane!

I've had a walk in a forest where you could smell that it just had rained!

I'm stil,l and always will be, amazed over this shit =)

I've had more super-vivid DILDs than super-vivid WILDs. Of course, I've had more DILDs than WILDs. They can reach the same quality--it all depends on the training of the dreamer.

In real life, your peripherals are fuzzy. You can read the words immediately surrounding this word, but not the post below or above, even though you can see them. In a lucid dream, the peripherals don't have to be fuzzy. Everything can be just as sharp as your center of vision.

I've never had any WILDs, but I have had insanely vivid and detailed DILDs, so I'm guessing that's not always true, then again I may just not know what I'm missing, so to speak.

Never really thought of this, very interesting though.

I've had more DILDs than WILDs, but almost each and every one of my WILD was more vivid in clear. This is one of the reasons why I prefer WILDs. With my DILDs, it's such a hassle for me to have to use all five of my senses just to get the same clarity I do with my WILDs. I also usually don't take the time to stabilize my dream like this in DILDs, and tend to rush, so I usually end up with blurry lucids But anyways, I hope you keep having more DILDs, and sweet dreams
Lucid dreaming makes for a wonderful night's play.

If I don't bother looking around or sharpening my senses in a lucid, it's usually a little less than vivid quality. Other that that, it's hard to believe that it's not real life!

When your comparing it DEILD to WILD, I think it's kind of like comparing a VHS to a Blu-Ray 1080p Hi-Res video. That's my experience at least.

DILD is far better than WILD for me, and you can use memory RC if you have too real-like dreams.

Mine are clear to the point were I know what I am looking at but my vision always is weird in a LD. It get's blurry and weird looking. Can't describe it.

The clarity and vividness of a lucid dream has nothing to do with how you become lucid IMO. It's like asking "If I go to the cinema on a bicycle will the movie be better than if I go on a bus?"

Dream clarity varies. Some are clearer and more vivid than others. I've had both DILDs and WILDs that are 100% as real as waking life. Personally I prefer DILD as I'm too lazy to WILD these days lol and I'm having plenty of lucids through DILD.

the few WILD's are had concur with your experiences, though I'd even take it a step further and say all my WILD's were like IMAX3d directly in your eyes.

Though most of my dreams are not WILD's, and these are of variable quality- sometimes they can be quite vague though in places, especially where I "slow down", the quality can be just as amazing and vivid as a WILD.
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!
