How many of you can have lucid dreams at will?

Basically what the title says; can you have lucid dreams pretty much at will? I'm assuming "at will" to mean you have the will before you first go to sleep.

I can, but it takes a lot of effort. Certainly too much effort to do every single night.

I won't count myself 'AT WILL' but I do try and MISS alot... I usually get lucid when I forget the idea of lucid dreaming but let's face it, it's almost impossible to abolish the idea completely. So what happens is that although I had officially 'stopped' lucid dreaming, the mind is still in the lucid dreaming zone of thinking unofficially in the background and it menifests as a lucid dream but it only happens once when I stop.

I can't have LDs at will, but I can have LDs almost every night if I try hard enough to, but I also like to drink alcohol and this hinders my LDs. Plus, I'm so tired some nights that I just don't try to LD. A few months back when I wasn't drinking and was on a nice sleep schedule I averaged 20+ LDs a month. Some people on here, Walms in particular, has multiple LDs almost every night. His LD number is in the thousands. I strive to be there one day.

I can. Like DreamQueen said, it takes a lot of prep work, effort, and timing. So much, that it becomes inconvenient to do it every day.

Pretty much. Once life got busier I just lacked the motivation.

Hmm.. for me, I can usually get myself to have LDs, but I can't even remember multiple dreams per night. For me, it's not a very exact science, though: I'll go to bed trying to have an LD, but I'll generally become lucid a few minutes before I wake up.

I agree with some of the guys and gals above.
MILD method works like a charm if your commited to it.
But I usually only make the effort at the weekend.

That's what we're all learning to do. Some days, it will happen without me trying. But when I do try, (Mild WBTB) it will increase my chances, but still not guarantee anything.

I can WILD at will. I'm still working on my DILDs.

The problem with being able to WILD is that you have to get the timing perfect for it to happen. Even though I can do it at will its still subjective due to sleep cycles and how tired I am.
This is why I want to improve on my DILDs as I don't have to worry about timing or anything.

Usually on weekends, it's easier for me to have lucid dreams. I don't know if I would go as far to say I can have lucid dreams at will, but if I really want one, I can have one. Most of the I'm too lazy to even make an attempt to have a lucid dream. To have a lucid dream, I generally have to be thinking of lucid dreaming while I'm falling asleep. I also have to pray for a lucid dream before I go to bed. Most of the time praying works for me. I try to be specific in what kind of lucid dream I want though, or else, I usually don't have one. I guess praying works for me so much because I have it engraved in my mind either subconsciously or consciously that the the deity I believe in will always grant my wishes if I take the time to have a long prayer.
Lucid dreaming makes for a wonderful night's play.

Hopefully someday I'll find a technique that gives me one every night, but right now I'm just trying for 1 a week

Just gotta ask...what emotion is this? ;( I've never seen one of those before...

That aside, I also dream of this. I'm kinda putting all my eggs in the MILD basket for three reasons: one, I'm too lazy to get up every single night and WILD/WBTB. Two, if it really does soak into your brain on a long-term basis, the amount of effort it requires should *theoretically* decrease over time, as it becomes ingrained, habitual behavior. Third, it is more certain than DILDing, which seems to be sporadic and unpredictable. This way, I'm really taking matters into my own hands.

:yumdumdoodledum: Weird smiley...perhaps it should be in my signature...
