      Lucid Games?

Wouldn't it be cool if a "ringmaster" (can't think of a better name, sorry) was running a "lucid game", such as a real-life game of Team Fortress 2, or any other type of game. People would just come to the 'ringmaster' and sign their name/username on a "dream detector" (i.e. There would be a light next to each person's signage, green means lucid, ready to go, yellow means dreaming, but not lucid, red means asleep, but currently not dreaming. Light off means awake.) Once the detector had enough names, a message would be set out to all the people that signed up, telling them that the game was ready to go, and to get to the 'ringmaster'. Then he would start the game.

Sorry about the text wall, hope you all can understand that

Games actually used to be one of my dreamsigns. Every dream was a game, ranging from, yes, real life TF2 to playing checkers. What you've suggested seems unattainable until we figure out how to hook the human brain up to a computer.

Noogah, that spoiler almost crashed Firefox. You could have at least made it smaller.

Conkt is right, you need to be able to do this game thing unless you hook the human brain up to a computer.

With a few very experienced dreamers, you could do this with shared dreams.

Shared dreams? I don't think those are possible. Has anyone successfully done one?

Double post because I can. The brain isn't hooked up to a computer, the computer is just scanning the brain. 1-way, not 2-way. The computer needs to send information to the brain and vice-versa for this to work, but what you posted is a step towards this type of technology.

Imagination is the foundation of most of dreaming, which is why I don't understand why some people are hyper-skeptical on these forums when people start talking about shared dreams, possibilities, etc.

It's like they want to take all the fun out of dreaming, imagination, and ultimately life. Personally, I'd rather have a blast exploring "shared dreams" in my own lucids (even if they are completely the creation of my own mind) than simply closing the door on that kind of experience because I'm convinced it's not possible.

But hey, to each their own and if someone doesn't want to have fun with their own imagination then that's their loss.

Anyhow, regarding the topic of this thread I think it's a cool idea.

I'm not trying to take the fun out of dreaming. But I don't want to try doing something like lucid games (which are pretty much shared dreams) when it probably isn't possible!

If I could lucid dream frequently, things like flying, the monthly dream challenges, and those things would probably more than planning a shared dream with a friend when it probably wont be successful.

Ok, I'm going to be very skeptical here.

Lets say shared dreaming is 100% impossible.

You and your friend talk about about a shared dream, a fight lets say, plan it, and fall asleep to dream it.

You both have lucid dreams, fighting the other person. They are seperate (The other person was not affecting your dream, you were just dreaming about him) When you wake up, you both have awesome dreams that you can talk about.

You may not have shared a dream, but you shared the experience. Sounds like fun to me.

that would be cool. Group gaming on the internet, was considered out of this world when it was introduced (really not anymore). Imagine a shared dream game, that people can all join in, if it could happen that would be amazing.

That is a great idea! It's something I have been working on. We go to the Outer Realms, a place no one can get hurt. They are all kind of like video games
      So far, we have:
battled one-on-one (like a fighting game)
      gone on epic quests (MMORPG-like)
      had huge wars (Hero-based RTS)
and done side scrollers! We actually played Golden Axe haha. (Action/MMORPG)

I like the dream detector idea. It's a great idea. I am going to make one of those in a dream!

      He's a junior member... so I think he's younger than 15?

I remember seeing that grey is an age thing, so there's certain restrictions.
