I can sleep like a rock. Noise and light doesn't really bother me at all (even when WILDing ), so I have never tried earplugs and masks. It sounds like a good idea for light/skiddish sleepers. If it is working, I suggest you keep doing it. That is one of the major keys to lucid dreaming...finding something that works for you. It sounds like you are getting close. Good luck!

There is just sooo much noise at home, I have hardly been able to work on having a WILD in the afternoon. Earplugs end up hurting my ears (not much at all, just enough to annoy the hell out of me lol) after a while and I can't focus at all on what I'm doing..
Also, I have yet to find an eye mask that doesn't make me itch and makeme want to scratch my eyes out.
I'm just not sleepy enough to be insensitive to small annoyances in the afternoon
The result is that I'm not doing WILD's at any other time than 4am.
      So peaceful and quiet

      Heh...

I have "natural" eye masks and ear plugs.

Pitch blackedness is vital for me, and it is, naturally in my room (and turning my alarm clock down ).

And...it's as quiet as possible in my room

      Sorry, nothing else to contribute...N/A?
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

Well, I use the pillow/blanket as eye-masks, sound doesn't bother me, it helps a lot with DEILD, even if I open my eyes, light won't bother me and falling back asleep won't be hard.
