What was the first time you realized you were dreaming?

Sorry if this has been posted before.

My first time I realized I was dreaming was when I was much younger (probably 7-10ish in age). I was in my house, and went downstairs. I have this bookcase downstairs, but instead of holding books, the bookcase held a bunch of empty soda bottles.

I then realized that none of this made sense, and realized I was in a dream. I got a little freaked out, because this was my first lucid dream ever. I never even knew you could become conscious in your dream. So, in my semi-conscious state, I decided that the best way to end my dream would be to jump from a high place and hurt myself (which really doesn't make too much sense).

I jumped from the top of my stairs to the bottom, which is pretty high. That failed to wake me up, and felt like nothing. I did it a couple more times until I finally woke up. I didn't know it was called a lucid dream what I had until maybe a couple of years ago. I still remember it very clearly, though.

I was about six years old. I was thinking about Martin Luther King saying I Had a dream. I got lucid. It was very bizzare. Everything was shaky like an earthquake and I was really upset about something. I begged for my aunt to wake me up but she ignored me.

Hmm...I was around 7 or 8 years old. I was walking through my elementary school when I suddenly realized I was naked. I couldn't figure out wtf had happened to my close. Teachers and reporters were chasing me through the school when I wondered if this was all a dream. I slowly began to believe I was dreaming. I finally realized it, so I turned around and began chasing them screaming bloody murder.

Not sure. As a kid we almost all have those dreams where we don't want to wake up because we sort of know. I think its easier as a very young kid because your life is bereft of tons of stimuli (normally).

You don't go to school, or if you do, its a relaxed environment, and your life is generally just more relaxed. You also sleep more (theoretically. I know many parents might beg to differ.)

Outside of childhood... Just over a year ago.

At around, 4-5, can't remember that well, only know it was a dream of me going on a trip to Europe, entering a church and demons going out of the floor, oh yes, a nice lucid-nightmare.

Around 13 years old... I had a dream I was being chased by the CIA because they discovered I had special abilities (like telekinesis and flying and stuff).

Near the end of my dream, my dad got shot trying to protect me. I remember thinking I didn't want to see this, and the dream jumped backwards to the point where he got shot. I realised I was dreaming, and yelled at Dad to get away; into the house, this time.

First lucid? Well, the first that I can recall I was really not triggered by anything. I went to sleep, and instead of having a dream, I just went into a lucid dream. It wasn't a WILD or anything, it was just that I'd gone from being asleep to having a lucid. However, I just saw white everywhere, nothing interesting or cool. Then woke up.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

I was around 7 or 8 y.o. It was a recurrent nightmare about a vampire. It was like "Oh no! it's this dream again... wake up.. wake up..." but I never woke up.
