      A future full of naturals

You hear phrases such as, "I've got to pinch myself - I must be dreaming" and, "I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming."

I remember when I was about ten years of age I was in a dream and started to suspect I was dreaming and then pinched myself. Because I didn't wake up I assumed it wasn't a dream!

Imagine though if people had instead told me that you could nose pinch to find out if you're dreaming. Maybe instead I would've become a natural from the age of ten.

Wouldn't it be great though if we could stop people saying something like, "Pinch yourself to find out if you're dreaming" and instead change the saying to, "Nose pinch to find out if you're dreaming". That could produce a lot of "naturals" for the future.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

That would really help a future genaration of LDers.
If we were able to replace the "pinching thing" cliche with this, we would have a huge group of LDers.

Well, I didn't do reality checks when I was little, and rarely do them now. Ever since I was little I just knew that I was dreaming. And no grownup ever told me to pinch myself too.

I actually think that in the future there will be more natural LDers, but, although the nose pinching might help, I don't think it will be the cause of that.

      I don't know.
In the future we will obviously know more about our brains.
Maybe it will spark an intrest.

I was told to look at my hands, which did give me quite a few natural LDs.

      Maybe, well, of course!

More things will be known about our brains, and more things involving LDing, since that does involve the brain and what people don't know XD. Maybe it will be more of a "scientific" thing then it is now, with scientists researching it more- as in more mainstream, as it isn't now.

      Who knows.

It would help lucid dreaming, yes, but don't see the natural part there, I mean, you are working for the LD by performing a RC, so it isn't that natural lol

Pinching myself does not wake me up. It just feels numb when I do it in a dream, but I dont use that rc anymore. One time I did it but my hand fell off. lol

An interesting thought that if we did start telling our kids to nose-pinch that it would produce a greater number of lucid dreaming incidents!

Hmm I wonder if there is a gene associated with natural lucid dreaming and if we could genetically engineer our kids in the futgure hmmmm we could create millions of naturals and change the direction of our creative lives what a possibility huh

Or we could put our money into research that'll actually matter, like finding ways to beat and prevent cancer.

I know what you're thinking about, and to that I just say how about everyone just learn like we have? We use tutorials because they work - no need to genetically alter people to be naturals at an art, just put in the effort, they'll appreciate the end result more.

Yeah it may create more LDers, but the main cause in the increase will most likely be scientific research and advancement relating to the brain, and dreams. As mentioned it'll create more mainstream interest. But part of what makes Lucid Dreaming so special, I think, to me at least, is that not everyone can do it at will. I mean, you get tastes of it here and there and then strive to get some more. I guess because it doesn't happen too often, I appreciate more. But now I'm getting sorta off-topic..

I'm sure in the future everyone will achieve lucidity just by strapping an electronic device to their head during the night. Until then, we're all gonna have to keep doing it the hard way. Which is, to me, the fun way.

I can't wait to have kids and teach them about lucid dreaming. I'm going to start as soon as they are old enough to understand the concept.

On my dads side of the family, they are all natural LDers... So I do believe that there is a special LDing gene. lol

All four kids in my family (myself included) lucid dream. But my little brother, he's 8. developed his own WBTB technique without even knowing. When he wakes up from a dream which he does quite often he doesn't move and then hold his breath. He has loads of LDs this way. He finds it funny that the rest of us write ours down lol.

My sister is sort of a natural semi-lucid dreamer at 6. I told her that pinching yourself really is pointless, and that pinching your nose is a ton more effective. The next morning I hear.."...and then I punched the bad guy and laughed at him shouting "this is just a dream!". It feels so good knowing that you helped someone stay away from nightmares

I don't know about a future of naturals, but I can tell you one thing, when I have kids I'll be sire to teach them that you can realize when you're dreaming and when you do anything is possible.
