I don't know how long I've actually been lucid dreaming. The first time I remember doing it consciously had to have been about 8 years ago, and it has been randomly and sporadically since, with several periods where lucid dreams, as well as simply vivid dreams, were clustered (January to March 2009 was the most intense, with a vivid/lucid dream occurring once every three days a week at one point).
So, naturally I became interested in trying to control these experiences since I seem to be so natured with lucid dreams. But I quickly found something rather sinister- although I have successfully lucid dreamed many times, I often fail quite catastrophically because, before hitting the dream itself, I get a high heart rate, ears begin ringing, and sleep paralysis occurs. Nothing new, except my mad mind then creates a very dark hallucination- that I'm being surrounded and abducted by classic Grey aliens. At which point, I immediately shoot back to consciousness (although, sometimes, I do dream, and the dream tends to be typical "Abduction" lore.)
Anyway I can overcome this, or is this... *gulp* Is this actually happening??? Because, for me, one out of three lucid dreams go this way and is actually beginning to discourage me from lucid dreaming. (Probably doesn't help in that I am a registered UFO fanatic)
