Take it from a dude who's died in his dreams before...you'll be fine. A lot of people on this site have dreamed of actual death multiple times, and yet they're still here. Personally, I think it's one of the most fun things you can do. ^_^ |

I dont really know, im kinda scared i might do something stupid and die in my dreams and not wake up. Is that possible? |

It is perfectly safe to die in your dreams, even very interesting. Don't believe hollywood! |

To my knowledge, there has never been even a shred of conclusive evidence to say that - when you die in your dreams (lucid or otherwise) - you will die in real life. |

Dream Journal: Dreamwalker Chronicles Latest Entry: 01/02/2016 - "Hallway to Haven" (Lucid)(Or see the very best of my journal entries @ dreamwalkerchronicles.blogspot)
You might get all psycho if you're having nightmares, but generally you should be fine. Especially if you are lucid. |

Hmm...well for a newbie like me who is still practicing lucid dreaming, I can't think of trying to suicide in your dreams. Yeah I know it's just a dream, but it sounds scary...well...for a newbie like me at least... |

For the task of the month I jumped off from an enormous skyscraper and failed to bounce back as I touched the ground... I hit the ground head on and nothing happened. (only that a cop grabbed me and trying to teleport away I lost the dream and ended in a FA more info in my journal) |

Hi Aliasmk - I wouldn't worry about this. It's a bit of a tautological issue, because if you die for real, it certianly isn't safe, and if you don't, then it is. There probably are people who have had heart attacks due to stress in dreams - but really only those people unhealthy enough to be under serious threat of a heart attack in any stressful conditions, waking or dreaming. Although people have obviously had heart attacks and died in their sleep, they obviously are never around to tell us what they were dreaming about, and those that survive probably don't remember! But I've died in dreams many times, and I rather think everyone has, if they only knew it, because the brain does like to run through someof our subconscious fears now and then! So, evidence is that apart from a miniscule number of possible heart attack victims - and that's 'possible' as in 'possibly' not provenly caused by dream induced stress - there is no problem with dying in dreams. However, it's obviously true that if somone experiences continued night terror deaths that that may lead to psychological issues which might need addressing. Short answer - don't worry about it unless it's a serious night terror issue for you. |

I die in my non-lucids pretty frequently actually. Just don't let it get to your head and mess with you.. Its all phsycological really.. |

Having Trouble With Dream Control and Clarity? Reflex Stabilization Technique
SOme great responses. I have done some very bizzare things to myself in dreams and even died a few times. Don't worry about it. You may want to ask oyurself what your dreams are trying to tell you. |

... This sounds extremely fun... I have NEVER had a Lucid Dream before... and I am never aware that a dream is in fact a dream until I have woken up from said dream, and usually such an ability would be extremely helpful considering that when I dream, it is usually about things that will cause me to panic. Although I do recall dying in my dreams... (Alot actually) and I always wake up when it is said and done. I will start trying to do this... Sounds crazy |
|
I've died well over two hundred times in my dreams, over my lifetime. There's not much difference between dying in a normal dream and a lucid dream. You'll be fine. |
|
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

you'll be fine |

Trust me, I've fell very far in dreams and never died IRL. |
|
I've died in a few dreams, though none of em were lucid. Woke up just fine. I was thinking about trying to kill myself in an LD just to see what would happen. You'll be okay though man, I know many people who've died a shit load of times in their dreams. |

That would be a very rare and weird occurrence. Though I think there is some sleep disorder where you can die in your sleep from extreme night terrors or something. |
