      instant LD thing

Something really weird happened to me earlier, i was laying on the couch this morning, and i closed my eyes, and instantly afterward a saw a flickering image of a house, i fell and landed in front of it, i went inside, yadda yadda, normal lucid dream stuff.(i was lucid) the weird part is that it happened right after i closed my eyes. It was actually pretty weird because it was way more realistic than a normal daydream, but not quite as realistic as normal dreaming. once i awoke, i tried to do it again, but nothing. anyone experienced anything like this before?

      subtle diversity

I'm sorry...I'm a bit confused with what you mean.

As you disconnect from your waking world your imagination gets more vivid, until eventually imagination becomes a dream. A dream is just what imagination becomes without the competing input of the waking world.

I often get what you described. It is a half way zone between imagination and dreaming. You can use it too your advantage and let your imagination become more and more vivid until it becomes a dream as you fall asleep. I'm guessing this is what happened to you; it is basically a WILD.

After you guys mentioned it, that it was a WILD, then it made sense . IDK, I couldn't come up with a name for it because it wasn't given a name. Wow, me, now I totally understand . IDK, just "instant lucid" confused me even though it shouldn't have!

Seems like the time I went to sleep on Christmas eve when I was about 5-10, usually it takes forever to get to sleep for me due to the excitement. I closed my eyes, then instantly opened them, felt no long than half a second, It was morning! I was very awake, like I took an eight hour sleep in a half a second! Wasn't lucid, but I still remember that and think it's awesome.

Yes similar. You are starting to dream while still awake, but you're not fully asleep so the dream gets "superimposed" over the waking world. It can be audio, like someone calling your name, or images behind your eyelids of varying intensity.

Hmm... This kind of thing happened to me before. I was thinking of dinosaurs for some reason while going to bed and was imagining them in my head and all of a sudden the picture became extremely realy and I thought I was awake and I instantly thought "OH SHIT!!" because I was thinking of T-Rex's.
