      Trying out this new technique

Hey everyone, I made up a technique which might aid me in lucid dreaming and I'd like to share it.

I travel to amsterdam every day because I study there, each time I step into or out of the tube, tram or train I have to scan my travel pass. Now I've placed a card in my wallet that says "Am I dreaming?" and the good part is that I place my travel pass beneath it. So I see it a couple of times everyday. It's my second day now and it has yet to work. I've been on an incredible long dry spell, but I want to get into LDing again and I'm hoping this might help.

It may take awhile but sounds good. Do an RC each time you see it.

Unless you ride the train and look at your travel pass in your dreams, I don't see how this could work.

^^ I would guess that people who spend a good portion of their days commuting will find themselves occasionally dreaming about commuting. Combine that with the expectation of seeing the travel pass, the "Am I Dreaming" card, and Sivason's suggestion of doing RC's, and this plan might actually work.

I actually did have a dream about me being on the train but wasn't aware of it. I tried fooling the ticket inspector. I've added one or sometimes two RCs to it, and I have yet to see results. But I do remember more dreams since I started this.

Sounds like progress, as I said, it may take awhile, but stick to it.

My lucid dreams all occurred, not when I remembered to do a RC in a dream, but because I increased my overall awareness in my dreams, by thinking about my dreams, and focusing on remembering them while in waking life, and talking about them. As my ability to recall them in detail increased, my awareness within the dream also increased. I was having several lucids per month. So, any occasion to remind yourself to think about dreams, in my opinion, will increase your chances of lucidity. Also, think about your dreams, question them, what they mean to you, why things happened in them, and compare how you felt in them to how you feel in waking life. I don't know if this has helped anyone else (I'm interested to know if it has) but it sure helped me. Many mornings my housemates and I would discuss our dreams over breakfast.

I would say not just commuting but spending their lives in some routine like occupation, work, school, etc.

Thanks for the feedback you guys. I was drunk last night so I didn't really remember a dream upon waking up. But I've also started to randomly look at my wallet, or when I see something weird. I saw a bicycle hanging in a tree for example (lmao), so I RC'd with my card and a nose pinch.
