Thread: crystals?

There are many superstitions with crystals, it's hard to say which ones are accurate and which aren't. As a Chaos Magician, I believe that your belief in the superstition is good enough. So if you look up a crystal guide such this one:

Beginners guide to Crystals and Crystal Healing

you can read up on what your specific crystals are used for and how to properly care for them. I have a couple but only because I'm a sentimentalist, unlike a friend of mine who has named all his and talks to them.

I haven't had any positive or negative experiences with crystals -- but I think there is a real science why we are mystified by these objects. And I would argue SIZE matters when you're doing crystal healing.

The most fascinating crystal in my opinion is quartz crystals, its used in computers! That's why the last Indiana Jones movie pounced on the idea that the crystal skulls contain information. In crystal healing, a quartz crystal is used like a mini personal computer containing your own thoughts, for the purpose of LOA. They call this programming your crystal.

But of all the LOA techniques I've played with, that was the one that's had zero effect...Maybe I just need an even bigger shinier crystal >:3 (I can dream)

I think I'll hop in this thread instead of the Beyond Dreaming one that had a 1.5 year necromancy.

From what little experience I've had, crystals had no effect. That is, there was a thread on Orgonite somewhere, which is in theory an "amplified" crystal. I think it was rose quartz. In any case I kept it for a couple weeks with absolutely no noticeable effect. Then I tossed it out. So on that note, I can say it had no effect. Then again, I did not "clear" this crystal... because I didn't know I needed to, and I wouldn't know how anyway. So it's theoretically possible that that was the case... but I'm definitely going to wait until I have more disposable income before I buy another crystal.

Ok, I will try to help. I will share a couple of things. One magical thing people can do is create a magical object through focusing attention and energy on the item. Crystals speak to us emotioanlly as something structured and beautiful arising out of nature, or for what ever reason, they are cool in general. This makes them good objects for focusing energy. A piece of jewlery or an old silver dollar could work, but crystals are just so neat. Basically, you focus your 'ki' or 'chi' into the object and it begins to resonate energetically. Eventually the item will take on a magical nature. I do not bother with this kind of thing. Magical objects are wonderful for anyone who needs a boost. If you start to really understand the energy, you really do not need totem objects. So, that is use number one. An object for storing power.
Some people will claim that crystals amplify their energy. This is basically a placebo effect. People have hard times picturing themselves as powerful, so they need a crutch. In my opinion crystals do not amplify energy. They can be a focusing point, but do not increase your power.

Here is use two. Each type of crystal and even the shape of each crystal will have a structure that is special on an atomic level. The different ways elements combine in structures like crystals, has an effect on how energy will be conducted through the crystal. This makes sense if we are just talking about visable light. Each type of crystal effect light differently. They also effect your own energy. So use two is to train a very fine level of energy awareness. Take different cystals and focus on them. Try to get a 'feeling' from how the crystal effects your focused attention. You can get to a point where quarts will 'feel' completly different from glass or calcite. It is very subtle, but that is the point, to use the different crystals effects on your energy to train your preception.

Slightly off topic....I had a really strange dream about a month ago that was like being in an enormous underground block of ice containing a dense lattice of shafts/tunnels. I have no idea what this was about, but in some superficial regards it resembled being an electron moving around in a semiconducting crystal.
