      MeohMyoh's Workbook

"Dream signs i'm agent mew and im after you..."

I know the importance of intention so i'm trying to keep the energy pumping. Page of Earth - Patience, Study and Success.

      Reality Checks:
      NEW 25/8/15
      1) location - do I know where I am?
      2) Storyline - does it make sense whats going on?
      3) Time - Do I know what time it is?
      4) Check against watch time - double check
      - Trying to fly and/or move objects with my mind
      - Trying to stretch my fingers

      Dream Signs:
NEW 25/9/15 - Secret mission dream sign
NEW 4/10/15 - Open corridors to sky or glass. Hurt Child.
(OLD - Trying to get home/lost - Crashing car)

      Short-Term Goals:
      - Setup a proper sleep regime to give me sufficient energy (based on needing 6 hours before wake back to bed)
NEW 25/8/15 - Maintain RCs daily
      - Keep my JD updated
      - Keep contact with smudgefish and continue to compare notes and encourage each other.

      Long-Term Goals:
      - WILD, I want to WILD so bad it's not funny.
      - Dream Yoga -> It's what made me think again about trying LDing.

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
One recent one, on day of joining forum hence I know the importance of intention (Hmm well it shapes lots of things).
I have had previous LDs I think but didn't know that was what it was at the time. I Just thought "Oh my...that was intense".
But the dreams sure stuck in my mind
Since I was a kid, when I've had a nightmare i've been able to know i'm in a dream and get the hell out of there.
Had my 2nd lucid, was a WILD (1/9/15 non-intentional ) I was scared and woke myself up. nvm,
      NEW 2/10/15
      - Remembered I used to lucid dream and try and bring back objects that I created in my dreams...Woh...how could I have forgotten that??

      Current Technique:
      Wake back to bed
NEW 2/10/15 Dream incubation - Astral temple 30 mins before sleep
NEW 12/10/15 kind of mehta bhavana (Mantra) + Yoga Nidra
      Be Kind to dream characters
NEW 18/10/15 Read dream journal (As instructed by my subconscious )
I have realised that if messages can reach me successfully through decoding my dreams...not being lucid yet is not the end of the world...
as long as me and my subconscious are talking i'm happy!

p.s I'd like to thank you people at DV for the help i've had already. I know its helped me keep on at it.
NEW 25/8/15 I want to sign up for a dream buddy...I need the positive feedback to keep me going plus i'm good at positive feedback
      NEW 2/10/15 I have a dream buddy...Yay...RelaxAndDream

added I'm starting reading the dream journals to give me the mindset that lucids are possible

My general dream themes seem to have changed since I joined the forum...thanks smudge for making me realise this...
Previously a dream sign was trying to find my way home and being lost.
Now it seems to have been replaced by being on a secret mission.

I take this to be as I felt lost direction-less in life before but now I feel I have a reason/mission to accomplish. @@ Yay

That is a great idea! I especially like assigning a score for day work instead of just the usual recall and dreams we count for competitions.

I remembered that when I was younger, much younger xD I used to try repeatedly to bring dream objects that I had created out of my dreams and into "waking state"
weird I had completely forgotten about being lucid and trying that many times...wow only watching a video about lucid layers triggered that memory.

I have been laying in bed sick, slipping in and out of consciousness. So I thought i'd try SSILD as I have done meditation on inner sounds before and enjoyed it.

      2 things that puzzle me:

      1) I tried focusing on closed eyelids and realised that whenever I go to sleep normally my eyes turn down and I look onto a kind of inner canvas,on which images appear
As soon as I realise I have slipped into this type of scene I wake up.
      2) I can look to another place within my minds eye and see a seemingly random scene.
The scene turns into crystal clear HD quality video but despite many attempts I cannot step into the picture. A kind of hole opens up but I cannot cross into it.

I haven't got much of a clue about this both are quite different experiences that I can choose to follow.

I was reading about stimulation of the frontal lobes via the Amygdala by simply visualising "Thinking about it"... (thanks smudge for this)

The activation of the right frontal lobe while in rem sleep has been shown to be essential to be "conscious" i.e lucid while dreaming
So....could you use the same process of visualisation to potentially trigger the right frontal lobe and activate lucid dreaming!!
Is what i'm thinking...adding to my arsenal of pre-sleep stuff.

Lol, I've tried to do this a few times during and after lucid dreams. Alas, it's still not working.

I see that the amygdala practices are becoming viral now. I just asked Smudgefish as how to perform this clicking. Sounds like a good tech to experiment with.

Yeah I think I just get excited about anything new...but really this time it's all smudge's fault.
I will stick to normal-ish routine else things will get to crazy.

Reverlation time! MY subconscious is trying to help me LD .....
Now i've had a dream with VIVID light GREEN
      Then VIVID BLUE
      Finally VIVID pale PINK
      in four separate dreams,
these are the colours I use for marking...so I thought what does marking have to do with anything important...
I thought marking = writing in books = dream journaling!
MY SUBCONSCIOUS is telling me to look through my dream journal for dream signs...and take my recall/journal more seriously I think.
I have been glass half full recently (maybe cos i've been sick) now I will be glass half FULL about my progress...and check out my journal daily...

This is awesome! I completely agree; your subconscious is trying to help get you lucid!

It's a great sign to have dream and LD-related material filtering into your dreams like that. It means that thoughts of dreaming and paying attention to dreams are becoming a major element of your dream experiences, which is a very important element in achieving lucidity. Keep up the good work!

I have figured out one facet of my current few dreams. White is used often for indoor scenes with artificial light
and outside is often dark and/or rainy.

Outside in my dreams seems to symbolise "waking state" dark and ominous , full of rain clouds with deep portent xD (my troubled waking life)
I think its pointing to the fact that my awareness in the waking state is very low intensity
      and as a result
my dream state "white with artificial light" is very low intensity also.

Hence my subconscious is telling me to up my awareness dramatically (stop being lost in thought)
if I want my dreams to be more vivid...lucid even...

k time for more dream yoga...

not sure what very animalistic/primitive tone of my last dream was...large dark claw marks on white background
i'm sure subconscious will give me some more clues soon ^^ I need to read through my dream journal

Your avatar has reminded me of something strange that was happening a week or so ago...I kept getting,,,idk...kind of visions...a fleeting image in my minds eye of a brighr light.
Like the sun coming through the trees on your avatar, but more of a straight line like the sun coming over the horizon.

      Question of lucidity:
When I was a child and had nightmares my first strategy was to run.
Then when that didnt work in dreams I would try and kill what ever was after me.
I would use whatever means necessary, sword, falling piano, pulling apart, super powers.
Finally I switched to waking myself up knowing on some level it was only a dream, As this was more effective, DC didnt stay dead when killed and just resurrected themselves scarily!

My question is, in my dreams I regularly use super powers to try and do things, as on some level I know it is a dream and this will work, obviously I dont try this in waking state. I have noticed this has become the norm, flying, making objects move, reform, changing DC minds etc. It has become norm for me as a way to escape situations not just in nightmares, cant remember last one.

Does everyone do this. Is this a level of low lucidity (layer o, -1?) as I wouldnt try doing it unless on some level I knew it was a dream.

I may know it is a dream but that does not make me unconcerned about the storyline of the dream. for example the scary lady is still very scary and im gona run. my concerns and desires are still those of the dream storyline. would you be happy about the thought of having a big spider put on your face, you would react to the thought and recoil even tho you know its not really real. Dreams are very real.

Yes, I would say that these (tk, flying) are borderline states on the verge of lucidity. It can be very beneficial to learn to recognize these similar to the way you would use dream signs. Make a list of all such actions and go through them and resolve that the next time this happens you will (consciously) know it's a dream. Then, it's always good to make a slow pause in the dream, reaffirm to yourself the dream nature and then continue with higher lucid awareness to do whatever you want/plan to do.

You can apply the same principle to disturbing situtations and turn those into lds.
Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.

      Hmm Trying a little experimentation/research:
i've been trying to WILD again when i'm napping....just familiarising myself with random visuals.
Before I had just seen scenes which I could manipulate a tiny bit then they would transition into something else random.
I tryed stepping into the picture but couldn't get my head round it...it didn't work.
I tryed getting into the picture by pulling it towards myself...that worked. I even imagined a rope to pull myself in.
Then I imagined vehicles in the scene that made things much easier. I drove around 1st person in some psychedelic green iceflow. The flew in a shiney metalic bug of a red plane over a desert of pyramids that turned into some kind of cornflours as I descended.

I'm finding this fun and so will continue as I think its helping:
      a) me notice transitions of awareness
      b) visualisation
      c) recall
      d) i'm hoping I might drift off and then be able to DEILD
