      Irreo's Workbook

      Hi there,

I started with this a few years ago but never managed to achieve constant and stable LDs. Always short, pretty random. I was very active at writting dream journals, but the last couple months I ended up writting only keywords on it, instead of detailing the dream. Also, I started swimming and my sleeptime was almost like being dead, meaning I didn't have any memories, as I was really tired. I completed a couple Month Tasks some months ago, but in any case I still consider myself "begginer", even if I tried several techniques (some with success).

Also, even if on a time I tried to keep an sleeping schedule, it wasn't easy. Now I read that if you sleep around 10 hours it makes easier for lucid, so as I wake up at around 6.30am, I will try to go to bed around 9.30pm.

      Reality Checks:
      - Nose pinch. In some cases it didn't work.

      Dream Signs:
      - A turtle I had when I was a kid, that didn't take care of it as I should have, and died. I always find it forgotten on some drawer, starving or about to die, and try to save it, but the result isn't good in most cases.
      - The home where I lived with my parents about 18 years ago. I'm either inside doing something, waking up, or just enter it, check the mail inbox...

Anyway, they never trigger anything... only a couple times I said myself "hey, this has to be a dream".

      Short-Term Goals:
      - Force myself to keep working on LDing, as currently I do nothing.
      - Have at least 1 LD per week, stable, and that last something more than 1 minute.
      - Dream: Visit an empty, calm, hot, paradise beach, with a bar where I can order some oysters and champagne
      - Be able to trigger lucid using some technique.

      Long-Term Goals:
      - Have at least 1 LD per night, which is long, vivid, and stable.

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      - Random LDs in the last few years. Could be 2 in same week, or just one in several months. But most just happen without practicing any techs, and they are short and non-stable.
      - I can remember 2-3 dreams per night, but lately I'm not very strict with my journal, which I'm trying to do again with detail.

      Regards :-)

      Thanks

Not sure what I have to do on this thread, or what I should do.

As an update, I will say that these last 2 days I tried to remove my laziness, and wrote down again dreams on the DJ, instead of just tags or keywords. I woke up at 2.30am and though "Oh come on... I don't want to write right now..."

But I did. Was nice to again have that weird feeling on the morning at 6.30am, when I tried to remember the dream, couldn't, and then read it and remembered it.

Also, I revived that feeling of starting to write my last dream at 6.30am, and suddenly recovering a memory from another dream.

What I couldn't do is go to bed early as intended. Well, I hope that once I start writting dreams again, and going to bed early, I can try some technique.

You can write pretty much anything here that relates to your sleep and dreaming practices and that will help you get more organized.

Your notes so far are great and you're going in the right direction. We have to start paying more attention to dreams, be able to recall them and journal them to an acceptable extent depending on the time we are able to spend on that. Then you can go over the entries you have journalled and think about the dream contents, identify dream signs, etc. You can also combine this with some critical thinking during the day and RCs to get started with some of the induction techs. Later on, you can add more items or change what you're doing depending on the results.

Well, so these last nights I've been having some bizarre and weird dreams. I wouldn't say my recalling is "better" because it's been good for the last 2-3 years, when I started journaling, but I did notice that making an effort to turn on the light and write on the middle of the night again helped me remember a couple dreams that would be forgotten. I used to note everything before, didn't matter if it was 1.30am or 3.40... but last weeks, maybe months, I only noted tags on the morning.

Again I dreamed with what I consider a "dream sign", the old flat where I lived with my parents until I was around 20. But as usual, not even the slightest suspicion. In fact I think I dreamed like 2 times with that place in the last week.

Now I could even add my grandma's flat to that "dream signs" list (RIP), as she died 2 years ago but I still have dreams happening there from time to time, last one past week. I even though: "what am I doing here? She's dead... and the house has already been sold!... but everything is the same she used to have... strange... Hmm.. glasses and plates on the table.. better leave".

I think I'll try some mantra before going to bed, to remember me of the dream signs... something I never did before. Maybe it works.

OK, so once again I dreamt with something that happened in my parents' old living-room (I was with my boss and coworkers, nothing family-like). Also, another dream (or scene) happened on my uncle's house, not an recurrent place on dreams, but it was supposed to be my house.

The "good" thing, somehow, is that I had a small LD (about 20-30 seconds). I'm pretty convinced it was an LD and not a dream about being lucid, because it was a long scene before, something sci-fi, weird, as an adventure, and there was a moment where I just stoped and said... WTF... what am I doing here... it's a dream. I tried to change scene jumping on a circle, and somehow worked as a bridge appeared where nothing was before, and also though on spawning a girl, that I though about doing before bed in case I had a lucid. Anyway I woke up as I was walking towards her. Anyway not sure if was a real lucid or just a dream.

OK, so I've not been doing my homework lately... some days alcohol, some others going to bed late, or even if going with time, forgetting about lucid dreaming. I writed the journal as usual.

But I did have a couple LDs, as always really short and near wake-up time. One of them was "triple-layer", or whatever you call them, as I became lucid while I was dreaming (DILD), tried to walk through a mirror (first I broke it with my head by accident), then spawned again on same room, and finally spawned on a college class, where everything was 3D cartoon.

I started touching a 3D manga-like girl there, and "woke up". Went to my brother's room (who doesn't even live with me) and knocked the door, and the guy that opened was one ex-coworker. I laughed when realized I was still dreaming, and I just opened my room window and jumped. Again I tried to look for a girl, found one and "woke up" again. It puzzled me that the window-blind was opened, though that maybe I'm sleepwalker, and remembered my lucid jumping out the window, and continued the dream non-lucid, normally, until I finally woke up.

This makes me think that in fact, I could have had a nice long lucid if I really focused... but this is something that still owns me... I either fake-wake-up and continue on the dream, or either wake up for real. I seem unable to mantain the lucids for long.

One thing I have to try is going back to always RC on wake up. I used to do it months ago and catched several FAs... but lately I just don't do it.

Congrats on the lds! Yes, these dream within-the-dream experiences can be quite confusing.
