      What do I do?

I used to lucid dream all the time as a kid and never realized it wasn't an everyday occurrence for most people until about junior year in high school when I did a research paper on dreams, I was trying to do it sort of along the lines of inception where he says "this could change who he is entirely" in the way that a dream could totally ruin your day or something, it more just turned into an informative paper on dreams (I was sort of a slacker in high school) Anyway, whenever I would lucid dream I just knew I was dreaming... thats it, I never controlled the dream in any way- except once, but I was VERY little and I think I might have actually been awake and just replaying the dream and pretending what I would have wanted to happen next. My question is... once I realize that I am dreaming... what then? Also... is the Inception thing true? Could you really lose site of which one is dream and which one is reality? I mean... if you are living your life in your dream and you are lucid well what how do you know which one is dreaming and which one isn't? You are lucid in both... I know you cannot fly in real life... but what if it was the other way around? Yes, you could do an RC, but that would only tell you which one you think is which... what if you truly do not know? What if the "dream world" had limitations and the real world was unlimited? I have always had crazy vivid dreams.

When you LD, you just do whatever you want. You can either control it or try to do things that you normally wouldn't do. Also, you can't lose touch of what is reality or dreams. That was just a twist in the movie that added stuff to the plot. A good portion of the stuff about dreams in Inception were just things that they came up with so that they could make the plot interesting.

It's impossible to stretch time out so long that you lose track of what's real and what's not. And besides, you can always do a reality check to make sure you're not dreaming. In Inception, they didn't use reality checks and lots of the "dream information" in the movie wasn't true for real life.

Once you realize you're dreaming, you can do anything! Dreams, from my experience (and that of others, I'm sure) run mainly on expectations. If you expect to suddenly feel someone touch your shoulder, or see someone turn around the corner, they probably will. "Know" that you'll be able to fly, and you will. Expect a table to be behind you when you turn around, or expect the door you're about to open to lead to a rainforest. Anything's possible.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Puffin nailed it. In my experience, when I expect... Uhm for example, Megan fox to be in my room in my dream, and truly believe it, then she will be there.

I would add in not to worry too much about your expectations, though. If you spend your lucid time saying "I believe it will happen. I DO. I really do. I know it now!" and so on to sort of self-hypnotize into believing something...it probably won't happen. Never worked for me, anyway

By 'expect it to happen' I (and I suspect everyone else here) mean just think it to happen the same way you think to move a finger. It's just a simple, commanding thought, not some elaborate trick on your mind. And really, in a dream, there's no difference between moving your finger and moving an object across the room for you. It all happens simply because you intend it to. Get that into your head and you will go far with dream control

...As I've said in a lot of other posts before, it's like watching a movie for the fifth time over again: you "know" what's going to happen.

Well, now, you can never be too sure! We may have to just discover the method to do it... or we just haven't payed attention to it yet...

First thing not to do is post an unrelated question in a random forum thread lol. But welcome, and I'll send you a PM (private message) to get you started.
