It all depends on you, I have been actively attempting to lucid dream for three months and have only had five lucid dreams. Continue with your reality checks and dream journal and you will eventually have one. As I said, it all depends on the person, some people can have lucid dreams every night without any practice and for others it can take years before they achieve a single experience. Never give up, good luck.

Can take from one night to years. It's all up to you, how much dedication you put at it, your effort, etc.
      Welcome.

Like everyone's previously said, there's no set time it takes to achieve your first LD. It took me a week, while others did it the first night, but some people go a few years without results.

WILD is considered a slightly harder technique because it involves more mental discipline, but it's arguable. Either can be easy if you take the time to practice... Saying that, if you'd like some supplemental DILD tips, feel free to have a look at my guide (in my signature). Good luck.

If you have any questions about DILD (or another technique), you can always PM me or another dream guide, or anyone else you believe will be able to help!

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

It took me 4 weeks to have my first DILD induced lucid dream. I had one like a week ago too and haven't had one since. As everyone else said it depends on the person. My brother claims that he usually has a lucid dream every other night. I beg him to let me read his dream journal , but he won't let me. Anyways good luck having a lucid dream.

The last few dreams I've had have been WEIRD. You should read my dream journal sometime. ^_^. Oh, and does anyone have any tips for falling asleep? Cause sometimes I just can't sleep.

I haven't yet had an LD, but I can help you in that department.
Try going to bed at a set time every night, so that your body can adjust to a daily rhythm. Relax before bed every night by reading for a while, or simply doing a short meditation exercise before you tuck in. While going to sleep, relax and put worrying thoughts to the back of your mind if you can. Some people also find that a glass of warm milk will also help induce quick sleep, as it is high in the chemical tryptophan. Good luck with your endeavors!

Ok, last night i ALMOST had a LD! I did the nose pinch thing and could breathe, but some old lady told me I wasn't dreaming and I believed her! Ugh, annoying old people in dreams. LOL

It happens. Just work on your general awareness, your surroundings, etc. Next time you'll turn lucid for sure. That was a great progress, though.

That's good progress! Just work a bit more on awareness and then, the next time you think you could be dreaming and someone says otherwise, you'll be aware enough to say, "nope, you're not right - I am dreaming".

ok! I was so happy though that I had gotten that close! Even though it still aggrivated me that I let that old lady tell me that. LOL.

By the way, I've been telling my friends about Lucid dreaming and i hope that they'll join Dream Views cause that'd be awesome!
