Should I still keep a dream journal?

Almost my entire life I have had very vivid memory of my dreams. I never have a problem recalling them; I can remember them crystal clear days (sometimes weeks) after I've had them.

Should I bother keeping a dream journal? I have forced myself to in the past, but I feel as if it is a waste of time since I have no trouble remembering anyways. I do like to keep track of my dreams, so perhaps I can write down the more detailed or interesting ones, but not make it a daily thing?

I want to do everything and anything to succeed at lucid dreaming, so if you think it best, I will definitely keep a journal...Just need some opinions! What do you think?

I would continue to record all of your dreams, it's a way of letting your mind know you are interested in your dreams and helps induce lucids. Your call though.

Yeah, in your case, I would recommend just writing down the ones that you want to. The fun/interesting/detailed ones mostly, I suppose. Of course, the more you journal, the better off you'll be, but eh, I think you'll likely be fine either way.

      Hi! Welcome to DV!

I would definitely continue keeping a dream journal! They serve many other purposes that will aid you in lucid dreaming, other than dream recall. For instance, you can easily highlight your dream signs, keep track of dream characters, track your progress/dream goals, etc. Keep up the dream journal!

Ya I agree with Juvenile, keep writing to improve lucidity. Thats why I do it, Im like you, I dont really need a DJ to remember, they areso vivid I remember everything anyway. I keep a DJ to try and get total control of myself in my dreams

      Good luck

Yeah keep with the the dream journal because not only does it help with recall it helos with lucid techniques. Like MILD or DILD.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

If you really find it a hassle, make the entry short and to the point. Example of one of mine from today (I want to expand on it though): Go into small bld/ shed. Bats. Take pics. Guy comes to get them out

As you can see, at least I have the scene and a few parts. If I read that later, I could visualise the dream fairly well, and took little time to write down. I would at least do that
