Riverboy, FIRST OF ALL, WELCOME to DV! |

Hi, I just woke up from my first lucid dream about half an hour ago and so jumped on the internet to see what it's all about (very excited!). Before falling into my lucid dream my ears started ringing overwhelmingly, for some reason I tried to embrace this and that's what led me to the lucid dream. Is this a normal reaction? Are there any other, more ear-friendly techniques that I could easily replace this with? |

It's totally normal |

Ah thanks guys |

Lol I don't think it does, Im still excited to go to sleep every night and I've been lucid over a year ^ _ ^ how could it tiering? You can do whatever you want every night! And welcome to DV! |

Congratulations, I will rarely get ringing in my ears but more often I will hear whispers or people calling me which can be quite alarming. |
|
Ah this is all quite reassuring. I did almost encounter a scary bit at the start of the actual LD, but I had some vague recollection of standing up to whatever it is so told it **** off! That felt quite empowering. |

The novelty hasnt worn off for me.. there is always so much to discover, from reliving past memories, meeting your dreamguide.. exploring anything you could possibly desire.. it just never seems to get old lol |

Definetly not! I think it will always be fantastic |

It always surprises me how loud these auditory hallucinations can be. Mine normally are either voices, or loud rushing sounds like wind on the freeway. |
|
I think the reason I was concerned was because I knew nothing about lucids and accidentally entered it. Also I heard an alarm like noise when I woke this morning which I'm 90% sure wasn't real. I wasn't aware of any SP though, any thoughts?? |

You might have been about to DEILD. Did you move at all? A technique to induce lucids is actually learning to notice when you wake between REM periods, and learn to stay still and DEILD (or WILD. There was a discussion about which one it is). Once mastered it could probably get you a few lucids per night. But I recommend trying each method for a few weeks at a time and seeing what works for you. It sounds like you've got a head-start on WILDing, which is awesome |
