      Some Questions

Hello All i just have a few questions regarding my lucid dreaming techniques

First, when i began my day and usually ask myself "am i dreaming" or "i will become conscious tonight" that happens usually around 7 or 8 times a day and i feel when i do that it seems that my dreams arent as vivid or harder to remember comapred to when i never asked myself those questions before. am i doing something wrong or does it take more practice and persistence?

For a while now (couple years) when i am in bed i am usually listening to music for an hour or so, would this have any affect on my dream that night? and after im done listengin to music i will tell myself i will wake up in my dream tonight.

i started to keep a dream journal but sometime i forget to write my dreams down some days but some days i do so do i just need to keep doing that and not give up?

any advice would be helpful. but ultimately i always tell myself not to give up because it takes time, its not somethign that will instantly work for me so i will need to be persistent.

Hi AnJa, welcome to Dreamviews! Usually when you use affirmations or mantras, it shouldn't make your dream quality go down. However, if you become too stressed out about it, that's when you might not be able to remember as many dreams. If you're trying too hard, slow down and step back for a moment, then start again.

Listening to music in bed, I usually do that too for about half an hour before I put it away to fall asleep. I haven't noticed it having an impact on my dream recall, but if you leave your headphones in, you might hear distorted music in your dreams.

When keeping a dream journal, it's important to write down anything you can. If you know that you dreamt about a dog, just write "dog" in your journal. Sometimes when you go through your day, you'll see something that makes you remember the rest of the dream.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to post them here, or send me a PM!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
