A quick question about sleep paralysis!

Ok so i dunno what my method is called but i keep a dream journal and do reality checks through the day and before going to bed i tell myself that im gonna go lucid tonight.... After 5 hours of sleep i AUTOMATICALLY wake up and trying to go back to sleep i get SP thats when i dunno how to act:

      SO my questions are:

      1. Should i close my eyes during sleep paralysis?
      2. Should i just concentrate on my breathing and ignore the voices?
      3. What is my method called?
      4. Can a lucid dreamer get lucid dreams every night?

      Thanks for helping

      1. Keep your real eyes closed. When you lie there for a long enough time, still conscious that is, your dream should form around you.
      2. Don't let the voices frighten you, know it's in your head and try to see them as something interesting and cool. Just try to focus on the pictures that show up instead.
      3. You're trying to WILD. "Wake Induced Lucid Dream"
      4. Yes, with practice you can. It's easier for some than others, but if you master the WILD technique and perhaps combine it with a few others, you can most certainly get lucid every night. The amount of sleep required to have one with quality though is what matters, and I'm not sure getting lucid every single night would be fun. Kinda like eating too much cake, it isn't as tasty after the 10th day in a row

      Good luck!

Matte has pretty much nailed it, but I'll go ahead and give you my take as well. Always good to take from multiple sources and form your own methods/style. Remember that. Everyone is unique, and so are their dreams.

      1. Yes, keep your eyes closed and as relaxed as possible. Just stay calm and let the hallucinations come and go as you casually observe them.
      2. Any type of hallucination that bothers you/distracts you...just ignore. Like Matte said, choose to observe the visuals instead, but don't focus on them. Just kick back and watch them as if you are semi-interested.
      3. This is indeed a WILD.
      4. Yes, you can lucid every night with practice and mastery. I got to where I was having 20+ lucids a month before. I'm just now getting back into it. There are other members I knew that had them every night and often times, multiple LDs a night. You can definitely get bored with "god-mode" LDs (LDs where you just go around controlling everything, destroying anything in your path, etc), but I used to love to play along with dream plot and explore dreams. I would love to do that every single dream.

Just keep practicing and you will get there. WILD generally takes experience and some practice. It will get easier and easier with time...just keep at it. Good luck with your future efforts!
