Hello everybody, i got a few questions

Hello, i've been reading about lucid dreams a lot the last few days and still got a few questions.

      1. How good dream recall will you be able to have after a few months of practice? Right now can I only remember pictures and short "clips" of the dream.

      2. And how do you remember lucid dreams, are they like normal dreams or more like something you have done awake. I dont know how to put it in english. But is it like a real experience once you wake up.

Sorry if this have been answered many times i just haven't found it, and sorry if my english is bad.

      1. I've kept a DJ for a year, but when I joined DV, I made a new DJ here. Thats when I really started to write my dreams down, my old DJ only has something like six or seven entries in it. Now I remember 3-5 dreams in the morning when I wake and mostly forget them if I don't write them down.

      2. LDs are probably easier to remember, I've sometimes had a feeling that I was lucid last night but I haven't been able to be sure about that.

      Hello to you too!

I can't be of much help on the Lucid Dream aspect, as I have not been very successful, I'm just pleased to remember and interpret my dreams.

But as everyone will tell you, developing a Dream Journal is very important in helping you to remember, plus you can pick out certain key elements in your dreams and try to figure out what your dreams may be trying to tell you. You can start a Dream Journal on the site, create a hand written journal, or there are applications you can download for your phone.

Whatever you choose best of luck to you and welcome to DV ~ peace!

      1. Keep practicing by keeping a dream journal. Put in the effort to remember your dreams and try to write them down as soon as possible upon waking in the morning. Your recall will build with time. If you want to really speed the process, you can set alarms throughout the night. You will get several REM periods per night and will dream during these times. Most of the time the dreams (especially the early dreams) will be forgotten even before you wake in the morning. The idea is to try and set the alarms in between or toward the end of the REM periods. You wake up, while the dream is still fresh in your mind and write it down. Usually REM starts after around 4 hours of sleep (depends on the dreamer...sometimes its more...sometimes its less). Then, you would set the alarm in either 2 hour increments or 1 hour increments for the rest of the night.

      2. Lucid Dreams are much easier to remember than normal ones. Your memorization process begins during the dream as opposed to after the dream is over. Forgetting a lucid dream would be like forgetting what you did earlier that day. If you don't write it down, you may forget some of the details, but you will remember the core of the dream.
