With lucid dreaming, you have to learn to walk before you can run. you can't lucid dream if you can't remember them so it's good you're already keeping a journal. Apple juice, bananas, and peanut butter are what I've heard give the most results and tart cherries (cherries that are dried like raisins) are a personal favorite.
