      I can't lucid dream :(

Ok I heard about lucid dreaming a few month ago, and have been seriously trying for a little over a month. I started off trying DILD, but I wasn't very good about writing my dreams down (I do still have very good dream recall) so I tried MILD but that never really worked for me, I also tried WILD but could never even so much as end up in SP, finally I discovered FILD(Finger Induced Lucid Dream) and actually got it to work! only problem is I forgot what happened after I walked out of my house. That was about 2 weeks ago and now I even FILD wont work, I think my sub conscience is trying to fuck with me, I've had multiple dream where dream characters have TOLD ME I'm dreaming, and I just was like "Ok why does that matter?" and walked away. Seriously, what wrong with me?

and sorry for the wall of text, I just felt like ranting

First off, I've heard it many times that people get told that they are dreaming in a dream and then continuing what they are doing without caring. I myself have had a giant TV screen on the wall having text about my lucid dream achievements, but I didn't realise I was dreaming.

You have to improve overall awareness in order to notice that you are dreaming. This happens by doing reality checks every day, questioning yourself; are you dreaming? If awareness is low, you might as well have a crowd shout that you are dreaming but the information doesn't "click" to it's place.

      Other good things to remember:

      - Keeping a dream journal; to remember dreams better and improve overall recall. (How good is your recall?)
      - Motivation.
      - Techniques (which you have been trying, good).
      - Patience; an ability to lucid dream usually isn't learned very easily, it requires time.
      - Good amount of sleep
      - Noticing dream signs

P.S. I don't really see that as a wall of text.

Make sure you are waking in the middle of the night for your WILD and MILD attempts. It could just be your timing. Try waking at slightly different intervals throughout the night. You want to catch the right time in your sleep cycle. Ideally, you directly enter a long REM period as you are falling back to sleep. Keep experimenting until you find what works for you. It sounds like lucid dreaming is already in your subconscious, since your dream characters are trying to remind you.

Just keep trying stick to something and don't give up even if it does get hard. I thought that I too couldn't have a lucid dream but then when I had one, I felt like I could do it over and over again.

I think that having dreams about lucid dreaming is actually an indication that you're on the right track.
It means you're thinking about lucid dreaming a lot, and it has begun to affect your dreams, which is great!
You're probably really close, and as soon as you have had your first lucid dream you'll get a massive boost of confidence, and future lucid dreams should be much easier to induce.

      Good luck!
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

Is that so? That means I am real close.... cause I've been having so many dreams about lucid dreaming... so many. O_o
In one dream I tried to WILD so that I could have an LD... as I was WILDing in my dream, I suddenly started shaking and seeing bright lights... I thought I would enter an LD for sure... but I woke...

for me it was gradual too, after 2 weeks I started having lucid moments, but then I stopped trying and fell back into regular dreaming, but I think now I'm back and ready for another go! Just keep trying, and try everything people above have mentioned! try waking up after like 4-5 hours of sleep, staying up 45 minutes to an hour and going back to sleep! For WILDing, try laying completely still on the ground for 15 minutes before getting into bed, I heard it speeds up the roll-over request and thus SP.
