      what is the purpose of the WILD technique

      so ive been reading up on some stuff about the WILD technique. is the purpose of this technique to get into sleep paralysis?

      No, the purpose is to go from being awake to sleeping, maintaining your awareness (LUCIDITY.)

      Just like WakingNomad said. You're supposed to fall asleep, but remain conscious. You will then end up in SP as it happens when we fall asleep.

      Yep, you are going to want to get into SP, then wait for the dream to form around you. It's not a very good beginner technique though, it's pretty hard and I have never been able to accomplish it without being scared by a noise or falling asleep. lol
