so the other night i had a long dream. i remembered bits and some details but the main thing i was curious about was this: during my dream i was shot three times, once in my left shoulder, once in my right shoulder, and once on the opposite side of my heart (right chest area). I awoke shortly after being shot and my right arm was completely numb. So i was wondering what some of you thought. was i lucid? why was only my right arm numb? Give me your thoughts

Well, you would have known you were dreaming for it to have been a lucid dream. What probably happened is this, your right arm was probably positioned in such a way that it went numb while you were sleeping. During your dream scene, your subconscious was picking up on the numbness of your actual body and translated that into the dream state. So, I would guess your arm went numb at about the same time you got shot in your dream. Its really cool how the dream will cross waking life conditions into the dream state. I had a dream once where my foot got cut off. I then woke up and my cat was attacking my foot.

Just like KingYoshi said, you weren't Lucid. Ever noticed that if your alarm goes off and you hear it in your dream? Your mind makes up an excuse for that alarm, perhaps it's a car horn. If someone turns on the light in your room you might dream about a car flashing its lights in your face or that the sun rises and blinds you. Pretty awesome

You'll usually really know when ur lucid. And the arm being numb was probably just your mind creating a scenario to justify the numbness for the dream. Or it could have just been a coincidence.

Yeah, I have left the TV on, fell asleep, and dreamed about the programs that were on. I had a dream about working for Myth Busters and woke up to find Myth Busters was on tv. I also had a dream about floods one time and when I woke up, the history channel was doing a program on the Great Flood.

First, let's get the numb arm out of the way - you probably lay on it in such a way your blood supply was restricted, and it probably had nothing to do with the dream, but it is great that you noticed it and wondered if it was linked to the dream - this shows you are observant, and it is important that you are observant when doing dream interpretation. On the face of it, this does not seem like a Lucid dream, as if it was, you would have remembered every detail viviidly. Nevertheless, based on what you have said, the symbols (both bullet and injury) in the dream if taken in the traditional sense, indicate that there is a friend or associate working against your interests. This is confirmed by the wounds in the shoulders, which indicate that person is setting out to render you incapable of defending your position effectively. This person is NOT your friend, even if you think so. The chest wound is worrying, as it indicates that if you react to the situation through pride, you will play into that person's hands and will suffer a fall from grace socially, or in terms of how people view you. Did the shots seem to fit into the dream narrative? Were you shot multiple times over a long period of time?

Did the shots seem to fit into the dream narrative? Were you shot multiple times over a long period of time? The three shots hit me one right after the other. It happened very quickly in that part of my dream.

That makes it seem like it could have been from outside influences, like Yoshi guessed. If the entire dream was about being shot, the idea could have come from anywhere. If it was unexpected and happened all at once, it was probably because you were starting to wake up and become conscious of your surroundings.
