      Greetings.

Hello, I'm (sorta) new here. Alright, stuffy introduction time...

The wonders of Lucid Dreaming amaze me. I had initially come upon them when one of my friends had told me that she was attempting something called Lucid Dreaming about a year back.

For the most part, I had filed that snippet of information at the back of my memory, enabling it to connect dust.

Then, however, I happen to stumble upon this site about three months ago.

I learned a bit more about the phenomenon, and was amazed at the fascinating stories that some had to tell. Complete creativity that manifests into the environment? Awareness that makes the landscape of the dream realm as vibrant as that of the waking world? This is the stuff of legend!

What really turned me on to Lucid Dreaming, though, had to be the "Tasks" in the forum. Destroying Christmas? Altering the events of a movie to save a victim from a serial killer? YES. From that moment on, I vowed to have an LD. So began my Reality Checking.

When I talked to my friend about the same time, and told her that I was attempting it as well, she told me about her attempts to have a WILD, but with no luck. I then attempted this, but my insomnia got the better of me.

About a couple of months later, I lost contact with my friend, and had just about given up hope. Then, in a moment of glee, it happened. I had my first LD.

Admittedly, it was very brief, and it lasted only about two minutes until my first false awakening kicked in and I lost lucidity.

About a week later, I had another one.

Add an additional week, and here we are now. So, hi.

Hi and welcome! Nice story you got there, you clearly see the potential Lucid Dreaming has. Sadly this doesn't apply to most people who either think you're nuts when you tell them about it, or are afraid to be looked strangely upon, or they can't be arsed to give it a try.

It takes quite alot of practice as you might know to master it, but it's definitely worth the effort! Which technique are you mainly focusing on now?

      Thanks!

Right now I'm mainly focusing on Reality Checking, which I found to be quite a bit easier for me than when I had attempted WILDs (but that might be because it's very difficult for me to fall asleep).

And yeah, I know what you mean when you say that Lucid Dreaming, when talked about, is met with skepticism and disbelief. It seems that just about everything that isn't within "the norm" of society is taboo to talk about.

Hello and welcome to the forums! You will find great community here that will always help you in any question (even those which are not related to Lucid Dreaming).

You should check out our "tutorials" section and see these tutorials: DILD, WILD, MILD, DEILD. The easiest and most common technique is probably DILD, but of course it depends on person. So go check them out

Yeah I suggest you check out MILD and WBTB especially since they're something you haven't tried out properly I take it. I combine them and they are great!

Yeah, that's mostly because people have such a limited view of dreaming. The usual person thinks of dreams as blurry images that happen while sleeping, from what I've seen of them describe it, and why they don't get interested in LDing. Don't worry about them. Their loss,

      Welcome to DV.

I would like to welcome you with a funny little emoticon. :awesomeness:

Lucid dreams also amaze me. I am past the 100 mark and i have to say almost everytime i get lucid im just amazed.

I hope you find a good home here at dreamviews. You will be welcomed by many. If you need any help at all i suggest using Puffins DILD guide.

You can also message me if you need any one on one help or just want to chat with a fellow lucid dreamer.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
