NO! NO! NO! I need some help, I think I'm a beginner again.

I used to do this to attain FULL sleep paralysis, (It is a "self-made" method I used to attain sleep paralysis etc.):

When in pursuit of SP, don't try and force things to happen, don't block things out from your awareness; instead, let your mind bring them into your awareness naturally without trying to force them in. Just allow yourself to completely "zone out" and let your awareness take over in a "thoughtless" way, drifting from one focus to the next. Don't look towards a goal, don't think about a goal; instead, be aware of the darkness and on occasion, check how your body feels as you rest. As you continue with your WILD, your mind will naturally drop the unnecessary things it is aware of. and all that will remain will be the darkness, hypnagogic hallucinations, and the sensation of your body going deeper into a state of sleep paralysis.

Once sleep paralysis has been achieved, you need to relax yourself even further. You can accomplish this by mentally repeating something like "relax deeper" or "relax further". Every time you say this phrase, try and actually feel yourself sinking deeper and deeper, (don't repeat the phrase again until you have felt yourself sink deeper). Also, try and synchronize the phrase you use with your breathing. As you say "relax", breathe in, and as you say "deeper", breathe out. Then allow yourself to pause for about 3-4 seconds before breathing in again, (try not to count the seconds or you will fall asleep). Remember to be aware of this pause or you might fall asleep. Just keep repeating this for a while and stop for a minute then repeat. Eventually you will come to a point where you feel a surge of energy trying to take over your body, (it will feel like you are falling asleep), just let the energy take over.

I used to successfully get to the highest point of sleep paralysis and to the wave of energy that would lead me into transition. I didn't realize at the time I needed to give in to the wave of energy which is why I never achieved a state of lucidity.

I find that I am back to this stage and realize what I'm doing something wrong but need help fixing it as I am focusing on focusing and not allowing myself to go with the flow: http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/my-sle...ilding-113695/

Any suggestions would be appreciated very much. Thank you!

      Greetings again DV users,

Here's a little more info and questions for those of you who would prefer more:
I've been practicing the WILD method with great success (in the very distant past now), but somehow I seem to have lost that spark that was keeping me going. I am no longer able to enter sleep paralysis (in a state of awareness). I felt it for a moment a couple of days a go but it vanished just as quickly as it came.

Am I no longer taking lucid dreaming seriously? I stopped writing in my dream journal months ago thinking that it was no longer necessary (since this method is wake induced after all). Are DJs really important for every technique?

I became interested in the idea of controlling my dreams in April of 2011 (this year), due to a couple of accidental lucid dreams I had in the past. I quickly learned to enter sleep paralysis by relaxing my body by allowing thoughts to flow past, basically just allowing myself to "empty my mind" et cetera.. I was able to get all the way to full SP (at night time) but am no longer able.

By sifting through some of my older threads I have figured out why. It is because I am somehow forcing my attention upon staying aware; hence the reason why I can no longer achieve sleep paralysis.

Once again, any fresh suggestions and ideas are welcome.

Well if WILD isn't working out, maybe try switching techniques. You might find one you like better.

Hi Anthonyyy0, I have tried other techniques. WILDs are just so much funner, I get to go on a "trip" -- no, to be honest they were working out just fine, I think I'm just having a very big dry spell which is why I'm reading Yoshi's WILD technique again.

False alarm! I figured it out, I'm either impatient or not tired enough. I do still feel like I'm forcing my attention upon staying aware. When I try put less emphasis on staying aware, I then fall asleep. I'll figure it out myself though, (it may take a while though).

Yeah, just take it easy. I like Yoshi's tutorial, it got me my first (and only) WILD. I don't really have time for WILDing or else I'd do it more. Good luck, and if it is a dry spell, it'll end eventually. Sometimes sooner than you may think.

WILDing is probably the hardest popular technique, don't sweat it too hard if you can't do it.
I completely recommend getting to the point of regular LDs by DILD/MILD before hand, it's just not worth the disappointment.

Don't beat yourself up about it, keep a regular DJ, and happy dreaming

I'll start writing in my dream journal again. Perhaps it will sharpen my senses. Thanks a lot for the help Anthonyyy0 and Arch.

I really recommend relaxing and trusting in the Grace of God to provide these Lucid Dream experiences for you. Some things are in our hands, some things aren't. My personal approach is that asking is up to me, and giving is up to Him. Many people opt out of the belief in a deity when it comes to lucid dreaming, rather seeing themselves as the lone agents or explorers of the realm. However, for both psychological and spiritual reasons, I've found it helpful to invoke the God of Dreams (Not a separate deity per-se, but an attribute of the God of All Creation whose nature is Love). I put my faith and expectation into being given a dream from Him as a gift. This has worked incredibly well. It's my pleasure to share.

Not that I hate god or anything, but I don't really like those people who say to put faith in god, it gets annoying (no offense). sometimes I feel you got to take it on your own hands. If god wants to help you, he will help you.

      Hope you start WILDing again.

      I agree with this one.
