What is the best technique for you? How long did it take?

Of course I'm new at this.. I'm in the newbie zone
But I just want to know which method works best for you, and how long it would take you. I tried the WILD technique twice, and it didn't work. I've never had a lucid dream before, so I'm open to all techniques.

WILD is extremely difficult and unpredictable. Try tapping into your existing dream resources by using the DEILD technique.

I succeeded in it recently, combining it with MILD by simply telling myself "I will become lucid, wake up, stay still, and transition into a new dream". I had a dream where I was lucid but which was vague, so I let it kind of fade away until I could feel the dream end, then stayed still till SP kicked in. I could temporarily feel my body in the bed and also hear all this residual noise from somebody's voice echoing from the previous dream, but 15 seconds in I visualized my dream and it appeared before me. Just remember to let the dream become clearer first, because I didn't. I moved as soon I was in the dream, causing it to destabilize and me to wake up. I consider this a great success anyway.

WILD works best for me. I had my first successful LD maybe after a week of attempting with WILDS. DILD seem to kick in randomly for me.

The best technique for me is to nurture the interest. Reading about it, thinking about it and practicing my awareness. Very often, but casually, without pressuring myself towards the goal. The whole process is a goal! Being highly aware of the moment in everyday life is something extremely precious.

For me it is DILD, just RC and done. It took me 8 years to induce my first lucid, but it was very well worth it.

For me DILD/MILD, as someone else said WILDs are difficult for some people and require alot of patience and practice, so keep it up!
I managed to have a DILD the day after I learn't about lucid dreaming, but I think it's alot about intent and motivation.

Update! I had two LDs last night! The first one I had was a MILD (or DILD? I dunno...) right before waking up to my alarm clock, which was set to wake me up in the middle of the night to do a WILD/FILD/WBTB. That one worked as well, but it was only about a minute. I'm so amazed; I can actually do it!!
They were both very short dreams though. Is there any way I can make them longer? (The first one ended because of my alarm clock though... guess that can't be helped...)

Relaxation and stabilization. Don't get excited, anchor yourself into the dream and then figure out what you actually want to do.

I have tried DILD and MILD. They are both pretty easy to do and don't take a ton out of your day or night for that matter. I used a combination of both when i started and it took my like a few weeks to have a lucid dream but they were really low awareness and I barely count them as lucid dreams. With the WILD, you need to be very patient. It takes a while to do, it is just a lot of trial and error but you WILL get there! The same thing goes for lucid dreaming in general. Just keep at it and you will get there. It's definitely worth the wait.

If you are pretty new I would recommend DILD, it's easy to do and works pretty well. Hope this answers your question sir! Good luck and happy dreaming!

I had my very first LD following Puffin's SAT, she really explains it in-depth.
It only took 2 days for me to achieve my first lucid by following her tutorial!

All you really need to do is, just genuinely be skeptical throughout the day as to whether or not your dreaming, and do RC's (all different kinds) spontaneously throughout the day.
5 a day should do you good, but I personally do about 10 spontaneous realizations.
The trick is to do it kind of the same way it would happen in a dream.
