      A few more questions...

I'll try to be brief about this... Recently it seems as though I'm overwhelming with questions and ideas about LDs. I would try to answer them myself, but for obvious reasons I can't test them out whenever I want to.
      So to keep from spamming the newbie zone, I'll try to put as many questions as I can think of into single threads. I have three questions for you here, hopefully you can answer them ^^;

      1. Is it correct that out of the 5 senses you have, sight is by far the most dominant in dreams, followed by touch/sound, then smell, and finally taste being the least? And if so, is it true that if I were to do something to try to heighten one of my senses, such as listen to music or concentrate on smell more often or consume more vitamin B6 (going off on a limb here ) would it work?

      2. Is this RC affecting my ears? Whenever I do the RC where you plug your nose and try to breath in and out, I think that it's adjusting... something in my ears, affecting my hearing!! Now I can't hear as well out of my left ear, and when I hear something high pitched, there is another, differently high pitched sound in that ear! I'm not positive this is caused from that RC, but it has happened in the past where I plugged my nose and breathed hard and my ears went wonky...

      3. I might be getting a job that requires me to work overnight, and into the morning. Will this affect my dream lucidity positively, negatively, or at all?

Thanks in advance, and sorry about all the questions

Ask as many questions as you want, we're here to help.

It varies on person, but by popularity, yes. For me it's 1. Sight and sound 2. Touch 3. Smell and Taste. Things tend to become more sensual in a dream if you focus on it, it also makes me stabilise in the dream. I wouldn't recommend taking 'more' B6, but it does increase recall usually, but the amount/how often you should take varies on opinion. For me it's 200mg max.

I think this is just classic dream behaviour, don't worry about it, if you don't way attention to it then it will go away. That is if you are talking about a dream!

      3. I might be getting a job that requires me to work overnight, and into the morning. Will this affect my dream lucidity positively, negatively, or at all?
Depends, if it messes up your sleep cycle, it might be hard to perform WBTB, but then again it could have a positive effect suppressing your REM, which can lead to large dreams, lucid or non lucid. (More REM in one sleep)

Hope it helped, just ask anything else here if you need it, or PM.

Happens sometimes to me as well, it just goes after awhile though?
Your nose affects the pressures of your ears and eyes and therefore can cause changes

That counts for me as well. The only problem in my case is that sight is generally dominant in my memories. As much as I can recall music perfect, it's another thing for sound. Similar things count for my other senses, effectively making vision simply the only sense to really stick to my memory, not the only sense to appear though.

If I'm right with my thought I know what you're talking about. But when doing that reality check you normally don't need to try it hard. Either it'll work or not so don't always go to your limit, simply trying to breath in normally should suffice.

As said already, depends totally on yourself. In my case it would be better to go to sleep in the morning than to wake up in the morning. You'll have to try and see.

Hey man, feel free to ask as many as you want! That's what were here for! Don't be shy!

To answer your first one: Like Arch said it does vary on the the person. But yeah that sounds about right, especially having sight first. Although I would say that sound and sight are about the same. There are barely any moments in my dreams where someone isn't talking. But definitely taste being last, I can't remember many dreams where I have tasted a lot of things (although I have had some awesome dreams about bacon XD). Touch can sometimes be pretty common, although I find it a bit diluted in dreams for example: I have been shot in a dream and it really didn't hurt that much at all.

To answer the second: It might do a bit, in fact, my mom is actually an audiologist and she has told me that doing that a lot can actually affect your hearing a bit. If you feel it is bad for you, you could try some other reality checks: such as looking at text or counting your fingers. But I wouldn't get really really worked up about it, just try some other reality checks. They are just as good!

Final question: It all depends on you. It might not be that great because sleeping during the day can be sort of hard from what some people have told me. But if you find it easy to sleep in the day since you are tired then go for it! It might actaully be a good opportunity to do some good WBTB's

Sorry for the weird format of answering your questions. Anyways, hope this helps! Happy dreaming!

      Hi Wilford.

I think with "taste" it comes down to focusing on it. It's something I think most people don't think about doing much in dreams. I have had many lucid dreams where my goal was to eat something that I had been craving in real life but couldn't eat. So it became my focus in the dream-- and I had a good sense of taste (sometimes not as strong as in real life, but not too much less).

I think that's the case with most things in our dreams. Whatever we focus on becomes more powerful. So if you want a certain sense to be stronger, make that your goal and focus on it. I'll sometimes go into a lucid dream with the goal to "touch everything in sight" or "really feel the motion as I fly." etc. It really makes the dreams more real.

Your probably blowing or breathing through your nose to hard. Just do it like how you breath normally.
