Wow....so this morning, I became lucid and it has left me with a residual feeling of peace and awe. I have been lurking here a while and reading about this. I think I am going to be a good candidate for it as I am an artist and have always been very sensitive to the creative side of my brain. I have soooooo many questions about it and am looking forward to sharing and hearing your stories. My dream from this morning? It went like this. Woke up around 3, left my bedroom to go read on the couch for a while. Fell asleep and then dreamt I was in the same room, only a book case was missing. I thought that's odd and then it occurred to me I must be dreaming! Looking back on the experience now, several hours after the event I am just marveling at how easy the transition was from being asleep and dreaming to "knowing" I was now awake within the dream. I have read that people tend to get really excited and lose the control when this realization first hits them, so I was very cognizant of that and wanted to remain calm. I rolled off the couch and was floating a few feet above the floor, like I was in a swimming pool. I wanted to try and fly but was unsure how to get out of the house so I went to the door and scratched at it with my nails in a circular pattern and the door kind of dissolved into ripples. I then noticed my girlfriend flash past the hallway back into our bedroom and so I went to join her, and I was hovering above the bed and she asked me if I wanted to have sex, and I recall thinking hey look at me I am floating above the bed!! but then I realized she could see me and so I thought I must really be awake......and then I really did awaken back into this "real" world. At any rate, I really am in awe as I had been very skeptical that this was something one could really practice.....can't wait to try it again!! |

Nice, you did great! Definitely keep in mind that it is a dream, and if you start questioning if it could be real life, then perform another reality check. It happens to me all the time, especially in the super vivid ones, where it's hard to tell just by looking around if it's real or not. |

Ever since I have been reading and learning about Lucid Dreaming, the thought that seems to be paramount in my mind is the sense that ALL of this is a dream. 21st Century physics teaches us that all matter is basically empty space at the quantum level, i.e. nothing there...an illusion. I think my first taste of the LD this morning is only going to whet my hunger for more and deeper journeys into this illusory realm we are all sharing. All that we see or seem is but a Dream within a Dream. |
