Can you hear music in your LDs?

      Hi everyone,

The question is: can you hear music in your dreams and remember the melody when you wake up? For example, you go to a party in your LD and listen to the same song over and over, eventually, will you remember the song the next morning? Has anyone tried to compose music in their LDs? If so, please do share, i can't wait to hear from you

I've spent hours in front of a piano trying to remember the music. It can be indescribable. I can't touch it. It's like an orchestra linked right into the moment I am experiencing.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

Try waking yourself up straight after you hear it and writing it straight down.
People do this to find answers to things and better ways to do wat ever they are trying. And some artists create a peice of art in thier lucid and then take a good look and wake themselves up.

      Hi there my friend,
Yes, it is actually possible for a person to remember "dream music" and be able to bring it to real life. One time, I was in school, and this classmate of mine was playing this guitar and singing this nice soothing song. The next day, the song was still fresh in my mind.

This is just awesome That's one of the main reasons I'm interested in LD and hearing someone confirming it is very comforting. It motivates me even more to LD. I hope that I won't hear songs that I already know, but I guess that's something I'm going to find out by myself in a LD

Weakamon, can you remember if you heard the song for the first time in the dream? Or perhaps you have heard it before?

I once heard an orquesta in a LD, I don't like music so didn't pay much attention to it. Pretty sure it was my first time hearing it but yeah... never did anything with it.

it's completely from the dream itself. It's kinda all weird yet calming at the same time.

      Hey there!
Personally for me, music carries over to dreams absolutely fine. A few personal experiences of mine; in a lucid, i summoned and ipod and pressed play (without selecting any songs in particular) and then music that i've been listening to alot around that time, started playing. When I wanted to change to a particular song, i just thought of it and hit the 'next' button on the iPod. Another example is during a WILD. I have no music playing during my WILDs but as soong as I got into the dream, two particular songs were playing throughout the entire dream.
You should experiment with it, especially summoning an iPod or MP3 player in your dreams. That dream with the iPod playing was one of my longest lucids to date, yet. It really helps stabalise your dream senses.

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

I once had an awesome dream where I was Sonic the Hedgehog, and I was jumping from planet to planet (except the planets looked like caroussel carriages), and the soundtrack during the whole thing was "Scatman's World" by John Scatman XD That was at least 15 years ago and I still remember that dream and giggle.
      Spoiler for Dream Goals:

Yes! What gets me so irritated is that I am in a dream and someone is playing an amazing song that I know is original and I want to remember it, but no matter how hard I try it does not work. I guess it is one of my dream goals to remember a piece of music from one of my dreams ><.

As long as the music is playing just before I wake up I can remember it for a little while after waking. In fact it happened this morning - seeing this thread reminded me. I heard a girl singing some beautiful tune and for a few minutes I could till remember it. It's long gone now of course. I suppose if I had a recorder set up I could have hummed into it, but with my crappy voice it would have sounded like an asthmatic hippo clearing its throat later when I listened to it.

I can tell you for a fact that you can hear random music in LD. I have experienced is twice , once when I woke up in the morning and fell back asleep on my back , I was conscious of my kind of half sleep state and could hear voices like talking on a radio , but couldn't exactly hear or understand the words itself. I could then hear a melody of music of which I forgot about once I woke up , if I wrote something down or whatever sooner it would of helped. The second time was this morning , I woke up in the morning then fell asleep again and had a LD in which a girl was singing and playing the guitar.. It was totally new to me and I didn't recognise the music whatsoever. To anyone trying and failing to lucid dream , set your alarm for 4am or something and then sleep on your back .. works great for me!
