...Damn! I can't think of an original greeting.......

Sorry for the akwardness perpetuated by my title but I'm too much of an attention seeking dick to just go with a simple "hi!".

I had first learned about lucid dreaming while I was looking for information on how to enhance my sleep which had always been disturbed. What I read enraptured me: the idea of being fully concious and even manipulative of a world within my own head. At the time, I was a major gamer and to me, lucid dreaming was the ultimate virtual reality experience. Needless to say, I really wanted to learn it. Unfortunatly, due to poor consistancy, bad practices and downright laziness, I had clocked a total of one rather weak lucid plus a near miss. Recently, I have resolved to strive to pick a single technique and keep at it till I achieve the results I want. Joining dream-views should hopefully give me some healthy peer pressure to achieve my goals. As well as that, I have a scientific curiousity of the different possibilities and want to share some personal theories and possible experiments of mine that might reveal new avenues in the realm of lucid dreams. Of course without the personal expereance of actually being a proper oneironaut, those theories might as well be resting on clouds which according to this forum taste of cotten candy. Hmmmmm.... Tooth cavities...

Well to cap this all off, I hope that I don't become to much of a pain around here and after ransacking this place of its info, I'll eventually give something back. Thanks for reading this junk and its good to finally be a member!

-and we're happy to have you. Thanks for joining Dream Views! I'm sure you'll find it to your liking. There's a lot of information and a lot of good people around here. (Just be wary when you go into the lounge, yeesh. [Only kidding.])

Anyway, have fun. If you'd like information don't hesitate to contact mods or Dream Guides. They're very helpful and will tell you anything you want to know. Other than that, the learning part is in your hands. Just browse around and see what you can find!

      Good luck lucid dreaming!

      Rational,

Welcome to DV. I don't think you'll find any peer pressure here, but when you dig into people's lucid dreams, you may find a fire under your ass. It's hard to hear about someone else being able to do anything and not want to learn a little more. I'm no dream guide, but I like to advise that you make it your intention, and give it your attention. You are already starting to program you mind to become lucid.

      Good luck!

      Hi there! Welcome to Dreamviews.
There's really little peer pressure here. Everyone is so accepting and.. just.. awesome! Have you decided on a technique (yet)? Feel free to send me a personal message or to ask any questions you have, here on the boards.

      Welcome again!

Hey Sandman, the problem isn't about learning techniques with me or even knowledge about lucid dreaming. I have over the past 6 months familiarized myself with just about every technique worth talking about, from KingYoshi's, Naiya's and Puffin's variations on All day awarness (which seems to be the ultimate tech for DILD's) to Jeff777 and Mzzkc's turbocharged rapid WILDing. All of those are worthless however without practice and consistency which has always been a problem for me, in any thing.

I've always been an introvert who lives through my fantasies but paradoxially, this very nature is preventing me from achieving lucid dreams (not to mention a lot of life goals). I'm determined to break out of this shell now.

Thanks for the offer F0rceez, hopefully I won't be needing it too much at the start. I've decided to adopt Naiya's mild tech as its very easy to practice daily. I will pair this with a dream diary which I will update every day, even on days with no dream recall (after all the aknowledgement of an absence is better then an absence of aknowledgement). I'll try to couple this with WBTB at least twice a week with one of them dedicated to a WILD attempt. After a month or two, I'll begin practicing ADA coupled with daily mindfull meditation. Thats about as far as my plan extends

      Hi, welcome to DV.

I just want to point out, since this is a very common misconception: my technique is not a variation on All Day Awareness. Mine came out before Yoshi's and that is that.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Sorry if I miss represented your tech. I never had meant to say that your tech came after Yoshi's. I also thought that ADA is a general term for the secular interpretation or tibetian dream yoga. I'll admit that I'm not as well versed in your DILD technque as some others but I thought it was based on awareness. I will have to read on it more.

Welcome to Dream Views. All you have to do is try wake back to bed every day, an dyou will get good results. Being an oneironaut gets really interesting after awhile. Especially when you can transform into things and meet your dream guide.
