Just beginning the journey into lucid dreaming

I'm 19, British, and have been keeping a Dream Journal and practising MILD (and couldn't resist attempting WILD, albeit unsuccessfully) for around a week now.

I've so far recognised a DC within my dream, but not become lucid from it, and also recognised a dream scene after waking up and falling back into sleep during the night, but I didn't become lucid in the following dream then, either. It all feels quite promising though, and I'm sure at least part of this is due to lurking on here, so I thought I'd join up and take part. Looking forward to speaking to you all

      Welcome!
You don't need to recognise a DC or Dream scene to become lucid. More often than not you just become lucid out of nowhere, although you can spot something weird and become lucid from that. But that still requires a certain level of awareness in the dream itself.

      Welcome to DV!

Having a dream journal is great and doing RCs is a part of practice to become lucid. If I may suggest, you add some mantras and awareness training to the mix. Together, they work pretty well in inducing DILDs.

Please post or PM your questions. Happy dreams

      Hey,
Welcome, your technique sounds pretty good, make sure your recall is good enough to attempt DILDs though!

Thanks for the welcomes and advice everyone Had a DC asking me last night whether I was in a dream (repeatedly, and quite insistently) and each time I responded 'no' and therefore did not become lucid
