      Hi DV world!

      Hi everyone on DreamViews,

I heard about lucid dreaming a month or so ago from my uncle who started from the movie Incideous. I remembered having one once accidentaly but I didn't look anything up about it until last week. So I did and ran across this forum reading some of the stuff on DILD and started doing reality checks and writing in a dream journal. I only joined a couple days ago and thought I should just have my first post be an introduction saying Hi and asking for any tips and pointers that might have helped you starting out. I can't wait until my first Lucid Dream and hope it will be very soon.

      Thanks in advance!

      Welcome to Dreamviews, cclav64

Having a dream journal is great! If you gonna try DILD, add some mantras and daytime awareness training to your RCs. You can check out the quick guide here. And the beginners guide here. So read up and post your questions and experiences. Happy dreams

Hello cclav, welcome to DV! How long ago was your lucid dream? Do you remember much about it? Care to share your first experience with us? If you remain persistent and motivated, I'm sure you'll have more LDs soon.

Hello! I haven't seen incideous, is it directly related to lucid dreaming?

Another technique you could take a look at is MILD. It is thought to be for beginners but can be the most successful. MILD was created by Dr. Stephen Laberge and a lot of people have used it to get consistent lucid dreams. Also remember that the first thing you should work on is dream recall. Because if you have a lucid dream then you want to remember it, correct? Use a dream journal and mantras and you should be good to go.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Thanks everyone for your tips and links!

I can't remember much of my first LD but I just remember I died or something like that and then I knew it was fake and was suddenly Lucid and I was in awe when the dream blacked out and I woke up.

Incideous is about how the government goes in and controls how people dream to control how they act. I didn't see it either but my uncle told me about and it sounded really interesting. I will persist with RC, Mantras and etc. and will look forward to posting my first lucid dream.

      Thanks again!

That's an interesting first LD. A lot of people LD naturally from having a nightmare. It's pretty cool that you experienced death and became lucid from it. I don't think I've ever died in a dream, I always wake up before it happens.
