      Dedicated New Dreamer; Hello!

      Hi everyone,

I have been working on establishing the habit of lucid dreaming for just over two months now. I have been very judicious is writing my experiences down and keeping a log of activities and practices to see what works best for me. This site is an amazing resource and I hope to help readers, once I progress a bit further with my lucid dreaming.

I have had six LDs in the last two months, since I started really working on the practice. I have always had decent dream recall and with a dream journal, tend to average between 4 and 8 dreams per night. Lately, I have hit a bit of a dry spell and am now trying to get back to the basics to rejog LDing.

Anyhow, I hope to talk to everyone more in the weeks, months, and years ahead. This is an amazing phenomenon and I hope that I can be a big help to other LDers.

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on your success as well as your great recall. I myself just got out of a dry spell that lasted for a few months so don't let it bother you, it will end

Hello and welcome to dream views. 6 lucid dreams in 2 months is a pretty good start. Your dream recall is strong too. I'm sure you'll do very well once your dry spell ends.

Unfortunately the best way to end a dry spell usually seems to be to just wait it out. I guess it's a good time to relax and plan out your future lucid dreams.

Six LD's is definitely a good start! That's almost once a week Your recall is better than most, but don't forget to keep on improving it, it quickly fades if you don't care to write down your dreams.

Set up some challenging dream control goals and get into learning how to stabilize your dreams, that way you'll have all the time in the world in your LD's.

If you're wondering about something, ask away!

      Thanks for the encouragement, everyone.

I am very consistent with journaling and take time every morning, no exceptions. My first goal was to increase the regularity of my LDs and I am ahead of my goals, which is great. I have even been able to remember my goals upon becoming lucid, but am definitely having trouble when it comes to stabilizing them.

Looking at my hands and spinning tends to make everything fuzzy or wake me up. I am not terribly concerned and suspect if I just try to have fun with my next few LDs, rather than trying to check off a specific task, they may stabilize on their own.

Here's a question. I have suspected that saying a mantra within the LD might help in getting more regular LDs, like "I can become lucid and return here". Does anyone have experience with this?

When I use stabilization techniques they usually make things worse for me. I think this is because I worry too much about the possibility of my dream falling apart as I'm stabilizing. So my method of stabilization is to not think about it. As long as my focus is directed towards my dream things seem to be pretty stable.

I have never tried using a mantra like that within a dream. It could work to get you more lucid dreams, but I'm not sure.

I think the best stabilization method is just interacting with your enviroment and trying to stimulate your sense of touch and sight as much as possible.

I have been lucid dreaming for over 3 months with only 5 lucid dreams. Which is a fair rate for a beginner. But you have had 6 in 2 months? That is a very good start.

Also welcome to DV, I'm sure you will learn something new
