Hi There, im new to DV

Hi there, im New to DV, and actually just started a dream jearnal a week ago, I went from barely being able to remember anything in my dreams(assuming i remembered my dreams at all) to last night were i remembered 4 dreams, its going real good and cant wait to LD. Also in some of my dreams i realise im dreaming, but in one of my dreams it didnt seem to phase me much and i end up going with the flow of my dream like i originally was, or in another dream i realized i was dreaming and i was going to do something i normally wouldnt do, but i talked my self out of thinking it was a dream and i ended up going with the flow again. although i try telling myself to check DS(like looking at a clock, or looking at my hands, ext...) it never seems to come to mind when im dreaming. Any suggestions?

Hey 8hrking, and welcome to Dreamviews! It seems like you're making really good progress for a week of trying!

My advice would be definitley keep up with your DJ, and with more lucid dreams, you'll get better control! It took me 6+ LD's to have a really vivid controllable LD. It's well worth it when you do have an awesome lucid dream! Also, when doing reality checks do a couple of them at a time. For example, I usually nose pinch RC, look at my hands, try to put my finger through my palm, and try to remember how I got where I am. It'll make you more aware in your dream if you do more RC's. Also you should stabilize your dream so you don't wake up easily.

It sounds like you are making awesome progress. Keep journaling, keep reality checking, and keep working on increasing your awareness If you get impatient, adding a Wake Back To Bed will increase your chances.

I agree with what the others have already stated. Since you've already had some LDs, then stabilization would definitely be handy for you. Methods to increase your frequency of lucid dreams might take a few weeks, or up to a few months. It's different for everyone though, so just stay persistent, confident, and keep lucid dreaming on your mind!

I'm going to be terrible and double post, since I know you already read my first comment.

I thought of something else too. You might want to try using awareness techniques. Here's one of several tutorials/guides on DV. Keep using RCs, use awareness with the RCs, and also practice awareness without RCs. Sporadic Awareness Technique. Look into other awareness guides if you want (ADA, dream yoga, RRC) to see what will work best for you.

Awareness is a great way to RC too. For example, I had noticed that my dreams either focus on a few key colors, or the colors will be very bland, or the dream will be dark. So one dream I looked around, saw how dark it was, and remembered that my dreams tend to be dark. Instantly became lucid. Acknowledging dream signs and using awareness are very helpful. Keep your eyes open for recurring themes in your dreams!

      Welcome to the forum!

You can find many guides on Awareness in the Attaining Lucidity and Induction Techniques sections of the forum.

Additionally, not every reality check will work for each person. It helps to have RCs that you will recognize, and even better if they relate to common dream signs that you recognize.

I wish you pleasant dreams! Let me know if you have any questions, and keep us posted on your progress!

thanks for the support, recently i have only had one dream for the past 2 nights, and it seems to be in the morning after the sun glares in threw the window, i have read some forums that say light causes more rem sleep and darkness causes non rem sleep, so tonight ill try to sleep with a night light and see if that effects my dreaming at all, also i have been lisning to subliminal audio from the audio aid repository forum for the past hour-hour and a half, and lisn before bed to see if it will effect my dreams at all. while I'm thinking about it, has any body else tried lisning to these audio things, and if you have which link did you use, the 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, recall, or The Ultimate Lucid Dream Induction - by Really. i appreciate all input, and i thank you for replying to this forum.

i would provide links to the other forums, but i havant been a member for 7 days yet so the website wont let me.

well i slept with a little bit more light than i usually sleep with, i had 2 dreams that i could recall, fairly vivid,(but still, its one of those types of dreams, were you wont remember anything, unless you take the time in the morning to recall them, or this might just be me sucking at recalling my dreams, idk)
Does anyone know how to get an OBE, or AP (not including SSILD) thanks

If you check there, the Beyond Dreaming section of the forum, you should find plenty of info on OBE and AP.
