      Exclamation LD really possible?

hi. i read about lucid dreaming and have kinda slack every time i try it. At night I want to, but I always forget to dream journal and check during the day.

for those of you who say it is legit, how hard would you rate it (1-10) to enter one for a beginner? gracias!

oh and how long does it take...?

      Welcome to DreamViews!

I can't really say how long it takes to start LDing. Some people have one on the first night they try, while it can take several months for others. Of course, it definitely helps if you're consistent with your dream journal, reality checks, and induction techniques. As for me, it took me about three or four weeks, using various DILD techniques (mainly MILD).

Just keep trying and remember that you CAN lucid dream!

Hey Vinny, and welcome to Dreamviews! And for beginners getting their first lucid dream, I'd rate it a 4 if you do RC's and keep your dream journal and do a WBTB every day! If you're not putting much effort into it, it's probably a 7 or 8. It took me a month to have my first LD. Then another month to have my next! Sometimes I have them a few days in a row, sometimes once or twice a month. I'm still getting better at it.

      Hello

What fennecgirl and USA said are all correct. Lucid dreaming is legit -- it's just like any other skill you have to practice to get better at. Some are naturally good at it, while some require a bit more effort. Either way, lucid dreams are awesome and definitely something worth looking into and experiencing.

I had my first LD a few days after I got into it, mainly because I became a bit obsessed and surrounded myself with lucid dreaming stuff, which isn't a bad thing. ;D

Hopefully you give it a go! Good luck and welcome to DV

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Welcome to DV! LD is possible! I got my first LD after 6 days of joining and my second 13 days after the 1st one! Remember to keep a DJ and I think it really helps to think and talk about LD during the day.

Rating after difficulty or saying how long it will take does not do any good I believe, I'm not sure if it's even possible as it is all highly subjective. For some it takes months, others will have it within the first weeks.

Besides what everyone else here have told you, remember that one very important thing is also your motivation, that can mean everything. I had my first lucid dream within the first week after hearing about the subject because I got so amazed by it, I sat up day and night reading up on it and it was always an active part of my mind; I was determined to try it. About one week after, it happened. Although it was short, but it was amazing. Since then I have not had a lucid dream quite that fast after starting up again between a busy life, and I believe that mostly have to do with motivation. I'm doing everything to change that this time Hopefully that might also be of some help to you.

Find a reason as to why you will really want to do it, get motivated. Remember to use caution too, do not become demotivated if it does not happen right away, it will happen with time no matter what as long as you keep at it

      Welcome to Dreamviews, vinny!

I just woke up from a lucid nap and I can confirm, they DO exist!

How soon, how often - all that depends on you. Specifically, how much you believe in yourself and how much you want it. That is more important than DJ, RC and all the practice. That doesn't mean, that you don't need to practice. You do.

Writing in your DJ tells your mind, that you appreciate your dreams and you want to remember them. That's why it's important to DJ. And rest of the practice will help you get aware in a dream and get lucid.

      Good luck and Happy dreams.
