      Talking Herro :)

Hi, I'm new I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a loonng (well long in my opinion ) time but I've never actually been this motivated to do it till now. Unfortunately, I've never achieved lucidity but I thought joining this might help I was hoping if I could find some tips for beginners, like common mistakes people made, and what technique worked for you the first time you had a lucid dream (or the first time you had a lucid dream using a technique). I used to keep a dream journal, but I got out of it and I just started again recently... well... actually, this morning to be exact. I set an alarm at 1:00, wrote down my dream, then I woke up in the middle of the night with a headache and wrote it down again. When I woke up this morning I didn't remember my dreams so I didn't write it down, but I at least did it twice last night XD I've tried tons of techniques but my main problem for a while was that I was trying too advanced techniqiues (ex: WILD, I could never get the SP down :/) so I wanted to do some basic techniques for beginners, but I need some help figuring that out XD I'm doing reality checks throughout the day so I'm hoping that'll help. Thanks guys!

      Welcome to the forum!

Keeping up with the dream journal will be the first important basic tip we tell everyone. It seems to be the first step along the yellow brick road.

WILD doesn't require you to experience SP though it is commonly experienced. For some it helps with lucidity and others never experience it. Don't worry about SP.

Reality checks are another good tell. When you use RCs in conjunction with a list of your common dream signs you increase the likelihood of experiencing a lucid dream. Try making a list of the common elements that show up in your dreams.

We have a Intro Class for beginners in the DreamViews Academy. It might be a great place to start. People are joining every day and it's supported by regular chat sessions which occur three to five times a week. The class is supported by staff and guides who have taken the class and are experienced with the questions people ask.

I had my first lucid dreams before I ever knew what a lucid dream was and a long time before places like this site existed. When I came here I learned about the techniques. Most of mine tend to be DILD, DEILD or WILD, especially WILD with WBTB. This works for me, but everyone finds the technique that works for them. Many here say MILD works easiest.

I added in links to the tutorials conatined in our WIKI.

If you have more questions feel free to ask any staffmember (like me) by clicking on our profile name and using the links that show up. We are here to guide you and answer questions.

      Pleasant dreams!
