      Hello! I'm new here.

Hi everyone I'm new to this website and have taken great interest in Lucid Dreaming. I've done it before on accident a year ago, I described what happened to a friend who told me I had a LD. From then on I've been practicing to recreate that experience so I may do it at will.

I've been performing reality checks, and keeping a dream journal but so far still no luck!, I've tried the WBTB and WILD methods.

I was thinking about getting a popular supplement called Galatamind to help the process and was wondering if it worked well for you guys or its just rubbish (Its expensive! So I want to know if it helps).

      Welcome to DV!

How hard have you been trying? Some people need to practice for a longer period of time before seeing results, but most people can get lucid if they want to

Galantamind should work. I'm using Lucid Dreamer though and it's got 4 mg Galantamine and 200 mg Choline per pill. It's a pretty cool supplement that increases your recall, vividness and your chances of becoming lucid. Take it during a WBTB and make sure you go to sleep right away. It makes it hard to fall back asleep again.

      Welcome!
I have tried several supplements and Galantamine is the only one, I am sure that works for me. I know Galantamind, it is a blend of 4 mg Galantamine , 100 mg Choline salt and 50 mg vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid). I don't recomend this one. It doesn't contain much Choline and it is not very good to take B5 together with the rest at the same time. Vitamin B5 is certainly important (it creates coenzyme A that binds Acetyl groups), but it is better to take B5 earlier (in the morning on the day before your attemp). I use Lucid Dreamer from ADN (4 mg Galantamine + 200 mg Choline salt) and I have B-complex forte pills (I take them almost 24 hours before G+C). This works fine for me. I also take 5-HTP in the evening and extra Choline together with Lucid Dreamer on WBTB, but it is not essencial.
I wish you good luck and many great LDs!

Bossman, as Matte87 said, do not take the galantamine (generci name) when you go to bed or you won't be able to sleep at all. You have to take it after 4 or 5 hours of sleep.

      Welcome to DV!

I have never used a supplement to lucid dream so I can't vouch for Galantamind. IMO though the best thing that you can do is practice. The best way is the natural way but there is no harm in using supplements.

Here is a survey of things you might be interested in, especially the part about supplements! Good luck on your LDing adventures!

Thanks for the responses everyone, also very cool survey BrandonBoss.

You're saying that I need to go back to sleep immediately after taking the supplements when using the WBTB method, but from my understanding you are suppose to stay alert for some time before going back to bed when doing WBTB.

Matte87, I have been trying on and off for a year now. Due to the nature of my work I don't get enough sleep but I am getting a one month break soon and I want to take advantage of it.

I have been wondering something, on average how clear and vivid is Lucid Dreaming suppose to be? The impression I am getting is it should be indistinguishable from reality with clarity more intense then reality itself. If this is the case then it is possible for me to be dreaming as I am typing this? is it so realistic to this extent?

You can always be dreaming. lucids can be as realistic as real life, or really vague, or they can have more vividness and clarity than real life. It just really varies. You can always be dreaming. do constant RCs.

This is encouraging to know, but normally speaking, do you experience dreams of intense clarity? or I suppose it may depend on the individual?

Did you have vague dreams at first and then only through practice you achieved very vivid dreams?

Sorry to be so inquisitive >.<

My first LD was super clear. It depends on person, what sleep cycle it is, how aware you are during your dreams, how much you have been sleeping. All sorts of factors. Also if you become lucid you can use voice commands to make it more clear in your LDs. Things like:
      More clarity
      More vivdlidness
      More color

I just expect these things to happen when I stabilize, so I do not use voice commands often.

I guess I will research more into stablizing then, thanks you've been a great help.

BTW someone was saying earlier that Galantamind only has 4mg Galantamine and 100mg Choline. I checked the United States National Library of medicne to confirm this, but according to there sources Galantamind has 8mg Galantamine, 200mg Choline, and 100mg Vitamin B5 per capsule. I don't know if they changed their formula or simply just doubled up per capsule either way I just want to confirm the correct information with somebody.

Also, I checked out Lucid Dreamer from ADN, unfortunately I don't know if a smaller brand like this will ship to the United Arab Emirates (Where I live). I called them but got no answer I will probably try again later.

I should have been more specific. What I meant was that do your WBTB as normal. Only take the Galantamine pill just as you go back to bed again. I usually combine it with 200 mg or so L-Theanine to fall asleep more easily.

Also on the clarity, it depends and varies from dream to dream and person to person. You can increase it once in the dream though to levels even beyond reality. You can see further, more crisp and experience colours way more vividly. For me that lasts only for as long as I focus though. Some dreams I've had have been so incredibly vivid that I questioned if I wasn't infact awake.

If you take more than 4 mg Galantamine you risk getting some annoying side effects such as headaches. Try Advanced Dream Nutrition: Dreamamins With Galantamine That's where I got my "Lucid Dreamer" from.

I just placed my order, hopefully it arrives in a timely matter with no complications. The website says it could take over a month, I really hope that is not the case. I'm anticipating its arrival, until then I'll be sure to try and have at least 1 lucid dream naturally. H

Have you ever tried popping two capsules and seeing what happens? Whats the limit in taking these before it adversely effects your health?

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. There is no quick answer to your question, but the Dream guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

One thing you can do in a post is place a link to another thread. I have done this below. You can click on the colored words to see the new thread. Start with this extra basic one, it will help you read the acronyms in other posts, Help With Acronyms For Complete Beginners

After that one the very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.

Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)

Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)

Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
